I am flying to Bangor. I looked at the Portland options and there was very little difference in fares, still no direct flights, and I'd be looking at added travel time for the drive so it just didn't make sense for me. If I was able to take more time (used most of my vacation for surgery already), I would have definitely flown into another East Coast city and made a road trip out of it. It's going to be a super quick trip for me, unfortunately.

But at least you can say that you've been to Stephen King country afterwards! ;-D

I wish I could make it this year. I would love to see Marsha again and everyone else. I owe Scott a great big giant (see what I did there?) hug!!

Yes, I'm so excited to finally go (and to get to meet everyone obviously). This is only my first trip. Definitely not my last. I've had plans for a winter trip for years and this Summer trip is not knocking that off of the wishlist.

I'll deliver that hug for you! <3

I'm gonna talk to Grandma about it. She's due to have a trip, and I've got plenty of miles for both of us to get there free. And since I place the value of friendship over that of dead leaves, it seems serendipitous.

....OK kids.....I need a "show of hands" from those planning on being at the event....we are readying a decision on a meeting place for all of us on Saturday, and a general idea of those definitely attending is needed....I understand some may still try and others drop off the trail because of life stuff....need a rough estimate is all, and Ms. Spidey?......would you please keep track of this for me??.....you do a marvelous job of capsulizing.....end of formal proclamation, please carry on as you would normally......unless law enforcement is watching......

....bus tour is a non-starter, too much expense and Saturday has too much on the docket, but those that are local attendees have graciously volunteered to do small "caravans" so we can all see the famous areas.....

Put us down for three people (although I did notice today that Andy's passport has expired so he'll have to apply in June and ask for a rush job). We were thinking of maybe flying to Toronto and then possibly renting a big vehicle to drive to Maine.
It's 1000 km (or 600 miles) from TO to Bangor
