So I found bluray copy of Eragon at Goodwill and bought it. Watched it. It was very by-the-book and rather boring.

This sounds a lot like my favorite middle school book that I taught several years. It’s titled Hatchet, but is about a boy who crashes in the Canadian wilderness with only a hatchet. skimom2 and I were discussing it a couple weeks ago.One called Hatchet about someone surviving a crash in a deserted jungle and has only a hatchet to help her survive.
Thats it! I checked and i misremembered the blurb. It was the canadian wilderness! You say its good? Thats promising. I just picked it up as a chance pick. You know i had to choose ten books to get that sale offer. This sounds a lot like my favorite middle school book that I taught several years. It’s excellent for 12-year-olds and adults too. There are several sequels as well.Thats it! I checked and i misremembered the blurb. It was the canadian wilderness! You say its good? Thats promising. I just picked it up as a chance pick. You know i had to choose ten books to get that sale offer.
Thanks! I've just moved it up in my TBR-pile. I like well told youth stories! It’s excellent for 12-year-olds and adults too. There are several sequels as well.
Congrats. Here's a pic of the four 'John Lange' aka Michael Crichton paperback originals he published way back in the late 60's/early 70's. 'Easy Go' is a 3rd printing, but the rest are true 1st's. I don't think the copy of 'Zero Cool' was ever read as the spine doesn't have the typical creasing and the cover and pages are near perfect (would be perfect if I hadn't of dropped it and put a slight bend on the front cover!). I am hoping to own all of these 'John Lange' paperbacks eventually.

....make sure you have some bougenvilla scented candles lit while re-reading....Saturday I also bought an unread hardback 1st of Strange Highways by Dean Koontz. I'll have to do a re-read of this because when I was looking through it I realized that there are some rather great stories included inside. His short story 'Twilight Of The Dawn' brought me to tears when I first read it in the Dark Harvest 'Night Visions' series.
There is a special tree featured in this tale..........make sure you have some bougenvilla scented candles lit while re-reading....
