Oops. Sorry.

That is adorable! And looks so intricate! . . . and now I want this heat to stop and the holidays to come!
I've done work on a 14-inch hoop, but only started a 12"x16", detailed piece in the last month or so. Given your amazingly detailed pieces, do you have any recommendations for working with such larger cross stitches? I've been using a smaller hoop and working section-by-section, but the aida gets a bit unwieldy and my arms get tired. I kind of want to try a standing frame, but can't fully commit to buy one.

This is another steampunk piece I did. "See the (steampunk) turtle of enormous girth..."

I do jewelry, too. Recently did some Game of Thrones necklaces....

And some inspired by songs:

The colors in your jewelry are gorgeous!! Your steampunk turtle of enormous girth is very cool! I saw a huge turtle the other day that looked a lot like a non-steampunk version of your sculpture.

Finally working on my lights for my dollhouse. May be awhile now before I get back to it. Burnt myself pretty good with hot glue gun. So must heal up. But I did get a few updated pics. I will post soon.
Let me clarify that yay! Yay! for updated pics soon.

Nay! on that burnt glue thing that happened. That's bad.

I hope your burn heals up fast, king family fan. Glue gun burns are the worst! I still have scars on my forearm from a particularly nasty burn. Crafting is way more hardcore than people give it credit for.

Really looking forward to seeing how your dollhouse is shaping up! After seeing the picture you posted earlier of the materials you will be using I know it is going to be awesome!

This is nice - maybe I can figure out a way to incorporate this into my little birdhouse wind chimes. I bought a set of paint brushes and an assortment of 10 acrylic paints at the same time I bought the wooden house.

So far I have put just one coat of acrylic paint in white but it seems to soak it up pretty good so maybe will have to do several base coats.

I must say I have hardly put a dent in that stuff. I keep adding other things .LOL Perhaps I will donate the leftovers and the extra dollhouse to a shelter here,

Oh my goodness! Everyone here is so talented!!!! So many different types of crafts, too. I've been a bit lazy with my crafting, so seeing what everyone is making is giving me some inspiration. The last thing I made was a miniature bookshop from a kit. It was my first time making a miniature and I found it really fun! I also discovered the enormous world of miniatures on Pintrest.
I think I will try to get back in to my cross stitch this weekend. It's one of the bigger pieces that an incredibly thoughtful colleague gave me after learning I cross stitch. After seeing AnnaMarie's extraordinary work I feel motivated to jump back in!

I could never get comfortable using a hoop.

I use q-snap. Q-Snap Needlework Frames

I do not have the floor stand pictured. I have a few sizes but what I usually use is an 11x11. I sit in a reclining chair and it can rest on my knees so I can stitch two handed. Right hand is under the picture and pushes the needle up, left hand is above the picture and pushes needle down. I started this because when I injured my rotator cuff, the movement of using just one hand going above and below, above and below, was so painful. And taking pain meds leads to pulling out stitches the next day.:a11:

I do not recommend the Michaels brand. (Loops and threads I think it’s called.) it is not at all comparable.

I made a cover for it, and the extra material is rolled under the cover. Like these. Q snap cover | Etsy (I made my own, and this is not my Etsy shop. I do not know who’s it is so my linking is not a recommendation.)

Oh I am so getting one of those. Looks like it works great. I get so tired of fighting the hoops!
