I was reading an online newspaper article yesterday dated 29/5/2018, and there's a picture of Stephen King at a baseball game eating a hotdog with mustard. Is that a recent photograph?

Yeah, both those books aren't in print anymore at least to my knowledge.I been reading The Colorado Kid and because King makes things sound real I been looking up places he mentions in that book like Smack Island. When it says that The Colorado Kid and Cycle of the Werewolf are King's only two books to be published in paperback once, does that mean that they only printed a certain amount and never did any newer editions? You learn stuff from just looking up what was in one of his books because I saw that the heavyweight boxer, Gene Tunney, lived off an island off the coast of Maine.
Best of luck!! Take it slow! Don't overdo! ((arista))Well, Today is my first official day of work. However, was supposed to go back yesterday. Had a problem with a stitch, so had to go back to doc. Ladies and Gentlemen:
We need to teach our children better. Girls and boys. In this particular post, I am focusing on the boys. And I'm talking more to the dad's out there, although mom's are important too as boys look to you as to how women should be treated.
Parents, you can make your boys strong, confident, intelligent, caring men. And this does not make them weak. If you think by raising a generation of boys to be respectful of women is a weak thing, then you are weak. If you know we need to do better raising boys, then do better.

I never understood what that phrase meant, completely. It seemed to be tossed about alot to excuse alot of bad behavior. I heard it growing up when my friends and I did something outlandish or stupid, or something as benign as catching frogs and coming indoors with muddy clothes. I agree wholeheartedly with parents raising a generation of boys to respect girls/women; that's how I was raised. That shouldn't be considered a weakness. With that said, I'm equally committed to making sure boys not feel there is anything wrong with boys being how God created them. This whole notion of "toxic masculinity" is offensive and wrong. We need balance.
absolutely. Females need to learn a different sort of respect for themselves too. It's not all on the boy.
....I was raised properly....meaning I was taught to respect women and treat them well.....not that I haven't had my Neanderthal moments, but though I've been made fun of-by males and females for my courtesy and manners(outside of work)I won't change a thing.....
Thank you!Good luck at work arista, and Wayoftheredpanda at school!
I have nothing to add to all these well-said words, I completely agree.

I lean toward being a feminist, but as far as the door thing goes, that's just common courtesy. I'll hold the door for anyone who happens to be there at the same time as I am and appreciate it when someone else does it for me. The one thing that does irritate me is when I do that and the person just strolls by without even a thank you as though I'm their personal doorman.Very cool video DJ.
How you treat the lady in your life is paramount. It's important for so many reasons. If you have small kids in the house, that child is watching when you least expect he/she to be paying attention. They're watching your conversations, how you interact with one another, how you behave in each other's presence. If you've got a little boy running around the house as I do, I want him to see me hug his mom, laugh with her, rub her neck, make her smile, make her laugh, because he's watching me, I can feel it sometimes when he is. I want him to see me open the car door for her, open the door for her going into a restaurant or a store, I want to see him integrating how to treat a woman into his behavior from a young age so when he gets older he has the respect for women that women deserve, especially his mommy. Mostly I want him to see how she and I work together as a team to make sure he has everything he needs to grow up healthy and happy. You're always on a clock with children, you don't get any time off. They're watching you, analyzing you, and eventually, more than likely they're going to start integrating some of your behavior into theirs. When he does that, I want to make sure there isn't any about question how much I love the woman that he also loves as his mommy. If I make her feel safe and happy, he feels safe and happy because SHE'S safe and happy, that's what matters.
(Hope I didn't offend any ladies with the opening doors thing, I know that's frowned upon by some nowadays, but I mean absolutely NO disrespect.) It's the opposite, it's a sign of respect for my wife when I do so. She seems to appreciate it and always takes the time to thank me for doing it. Maybe it's old fashioned I guess, but some traditions aren't totally bad are they?
