I am pretty sure that it was Africa hot yesterday and going to be hotter than possums having a three way in the mail box.

So I'm at work now, and that is not exactly something I could repeat at work. So I called my husband and told him how hot it was going to be. He replied, "Why would anyone say that??"

And I thought discovering the corpse of a frog that had no way of getting inside my mailbox being inside my mailbox was weird, you must’ve seen a lot of stuff in the 117 years your profile claims you to be.

Did you say somewhere that you make sangria? If so, would you share your recipe with me?
I had a recipe that calls for a citrus simple syrup, but I've lost it.

Well, I was making Sangria slushes. I didn't make my own Sangria for them, though. I've been using the bottled Sangria SwiftSis gave me (a basket with like 6 different kinds) for Christmas for them. The Red Guitar brand was a nice one.

I always wondered about the bottled ones, but have been afraid to try. If you say it's good, I'll give it a try.
....and don't worry about me not liking it. I'm from NC, I like muscadine wine.

This forum I used to go to is dead. No new posts for 2 whole days. Time to move on, I guess. It's not just because of Facebook and Twitter. It's because of poor management and the rule set.

I can relate to this so much... I've been on quite a few forums, and they are all dead (some because of social media, some because of pathetic policies). I still miss my first forum, it really was my home, I never found a forum like that one again. Sadly it closed down in '07.

I did a Wine&Design class once and now I get a monthly ad from them of their latest class options. In honor of the season, they added this recipe for Honeycrisp Apple Sangria. Sounds pretty good and since Sundrop was asking for one, I will share with y'all! If/when I make it, I will post a review!

Honeycrisp Apple Sangria

3 cinnamon sticks
2 honeycrisp apples, chopped
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine
1 3/4 cups apple cider
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup orange juice
juice from 1 lemon
club soda to taste

Place cinnamon sticks, apples, and orange slices in a large pitcher. Add wine, apple cider, brandy and orange juice and lemon juice. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for 6-24 hours. After fully chilled, taste and add honey or sugar if desired. Moisten the rim of glasses with water, then dip them in cinnamon sugar mixture. Pour sangria in the glass and enjoy!

that sounds good.

Dammit! I need a drinking friend! Otherwise I'm just the lone, weird drunk smell in the attic.
