Absolutely true right down the line.
Excellent work!
PIeces and parts are okay. I like seeing people's work in progress. It lets me take notes and learn a thing or three.I have made many quilts. I'm not sure I have pictures of any of them totally finished. I love piecing the tops.
Moderator actually does her own quilting which is beautiful work.
I use a machine, so I don't think I can call it 'by hand' ...and I'm okay with it. I take too long as it is.Years ago, by hand. All gifted, no pics. Indeed, Ms Mod does beautiful work.
Absolutely correct. Every single one of 'em.
I'm totally the same way. Tall Guy HATES going to the quilt shop with me to look at fabrics. But he hates turning me loose with a credit card in a fabric store even more. So he goes with me. He lets me run riot, but only to a point. He draws the line, and it's a good thing. I've already got more fabric than I could sew together in a year. When I was a little girl, my grandma would take me to the fabric store with her. She would be in there for hours (it felt like) picking out fabrics for quilts. And I'd be like, *whine*whine*whine*.
Now, I'm just like my grandma. I can spend a good hour at a quilt store just looking at the notions and potions that go into these things.
And, I am known at my favorite quilt store. I've been going there for probably 25 years now and most of the same women are still there!
That's beautiful! I love the idea of using the grandkids' artwork! Totally stealing the idea.I do rag quilts. This is my most recent. My granddaughter drew/coloured some of the squares.

I saw this and the first thing I thought was “Quilters Inc.” (insert smiley face with cigarette here) - apparently cannot choose any smilies while on this iPadAre there other folks here that quilt? Let's see 'em!

Wow - very professional! You could just about sell these (but you probably would not want to, as I'm sure they took a lot of time). Lucky daughter!Yes, I'm a quilter, too. I do traditional quilts and have dabbled a little with art quilts. I'm not into hand quilting with either the piecing or the quilting but have done even a king size quilt with free-motion quilting on my domestic machine. One day I would love to have a long-arm quilting machine but they are pricey. I like projects that teach me new skills.
This is one I did a couple years ago as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She had begun the piecing and then never finished it.

This one is a paper-pieced design. When I quilted it, I just followed along the points of the design in white and decided it made a really cool pattern on its own so didn't do any more quilting. I'm one of those who can't throw scraps away so used most of what was left over to make the matching pillows.

Thanks! I do have some others tucked away that I would sell and have sold some in the past. I've thought about doing an Etsy shop again or maybe even Amazon Handmade (I just discovered a month or so ago they have their own department for people who do crafts) but it takes a lot of time to do the listings and establishing a following which I just haven't had time to do while I'm working full-time.Wow - very professional!
