I watched The Reader last night. I enjoyed it but wasn't prepared for the ending. Kate Winslet did an excellent job in her role for which she won an Oscar.

From what I understand, the Split main character was originally supposed to be in Unbreakable but was edited out because M. Night "couldn't get the balance right'.I’m pretty sure Split is meant as an introduction for one of the characters
I agree with the Chris Noth thing. They used another actor in as well in the old Dick Tracy movies. Morgan Conway who comes across as more hard-boiled with his raspier voice. Byrd looks more traditionally like Tracy but he looks too friendly. I like how those movies start with a drawing of the villian and then it turns into the real person. I would update this franchise with a guy called Steve Tracy versus Cueball Mark.I used to love watching all the Ralph Byrd DT films on TV when I was a kid. I really think Dick Tracy can be a good TV show were someone to develop it. At the time when Law & Order premiered in the 90s, I thought Chris Noth would have made for a great Tracy.
I’d like to know how the casting process goes for serial killer biopics. I don’t think it would be morally uplifting to know you look just like Jeffrey Dahmer or John Wayne Gacy enough to play themI saw a list of upcoming movies and there was one about Ted Bundy and Zac Efron is playing Ted Bundy.
Zac kind of looks like Ted Bundy.
Also, there is a movie about Anton Yelchin on the list that looks good.

Of course, I still can’t see an ex-Disney channel star playing The Boston Strangler however. How about reading a script and then telling your agent, "get me this job playing Ted Bundy"
I don't see what's so special about the concept of A Quiet Place. Okay, you have to be quiet so the monsters can't hear you, but isn't that the case in every horrorfilm where people are hiding for monsters or (human) killers?
And if these monsters were real, they wouldn't survive long. At one point one is about to attack one of the protagonists, but then is distracted by a sound from very far away. If each time they're about to attack they get sidetracked by other sounds, they would never get around to killing anyone.
One thing that has always bugged me about horror movies is that when the 'prey' is looking for the location of a strange sound in a dark place they use a flashlight or some other kind of illumination. Wouldn't that just make them an easy target for the killer/monster that's lurking in the dark? Something to ponder....I watched Horror Hotel(1960) because I mentioned it yesterday. I was thinking of The Night Stalker, but The Night Strangler is good to. The Night Stalker is in my top 100 movies I've ever seen. I watched it the first time in 1973 when I was eight years old. Channel Nine in Sydney seemed to play scary movies every Friday and Saturday night. I remember watching that movie glued to the T.V. I also watched recently Internal Affairs starring Richard Gere and Andy Garcia.
Yes, but humans are visual. Visual is our most stong sense. We like to see what is about to eat us. Being in the dark not knowing what is going to kill you isn't an option. Also, it is the best chance for escape. I get your point but unless we can see in the dark like cats or something, we need light. Also, it is a film, so the audience needs to see the menace. For instance, when Tom Skerritt, is in the tunnel things in Alien and he swings the light around and the alien is right next to him. I think I would drop a load of poo in my pants at that instance. I trying to think of the different movies I've watched where they have been in a dark place and they swing the flashlight around and there is the killer/monster.One thing that has always bugged me about horror movies is that when the 'prey' is looking for the location of a strange sound in a dark place they use a flashlight or some other kind of illumination. Wouldn't that just make them an easy target for the killer/monster that's lurking in the dark? Something to ponder....
....only when they go into the basement after running through the forest, post random sexual encounter....One thing that has always bugged me about horror movies is that when the 'prey' is looking for the location of a strange sound in a dark place they use a flashlight or some other kind of illumination. Wouldn't that just make them an easy target for the killer/monster that's lurking in the dark? Something to ponder....

One of my favorite old west movies of all time. Great flick. Got to see it at the drive-in originally. The Long Riders (1980) The Carradines, The Keachs and The Quaids
Good flick about Frank and Jesse James plus the Youngers and Millers with real life brothers playing the parts. Where were the Bridges brothers for this one? This movie has an awesome Ry Cooder soundtrack too.
