And one last thing, as the lameness level has increased past my tolerance for boredom. Authors do these events to SELL BOOKS. Not because they're doing any great thing for the fans. I personally know a couple of authors who are well published and put these things on, though admittedly, not of SK's stature. But the intention is the same. They write to make a living, and they make a living from the fans who purchase the books, and attend the movies, etc. They did the event to sell their books. People who have been reading those books as long as I have develop an emotional attachment to the stories and the author. It's one the Author makes his bread and butter on. That's the reality of the thing, so something personal such as a mere autograph means something to someone who has been touched by the stories. AGAIN, we weren't given a fair shot, and to leave some fans hanging because of it is just poor. I wasn't looking to resell the thing, but keep it as a personal momento of the event and my attachment to his work, which is his personal gift. The way it was handled left a sour taste NOT only in my mouth, but many others as well. Perhaps, if you "work for him" or are in touch with him, or are his assistant, you might take that into consideration before firing off your cavalier responses. As for some of the rest, I would expect nothing less on a message board today. It's the sad commentary on where society is. Sad
