Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake and Palmer), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), and some other dudes performing I Believe in Father Christmas in church.

Went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra play the other week. Loved their music associated with Christmas. Not fond of the storytelling part of the show. Light and pyrotechnics show was amazing, and the giant Tesla machine matching lightning (right in front of me) to the music was out of this world.

I can't say I know much about the genre. You're probably right. But all I know is that on YouTube, they let rappers do songs about attacking cops, and they don't censor that. But near enough every Marilyn Manson song is censored, hmm, could there possibly be some bias?
Well, it’s not like people from past generations didn’t write politically charged songs like that too. And to stereotype a genre like that is not okay. If anything censorship like that is a product of its time and YouTube is a public access network and anyone can upload anything. Even so if people feel that way about police, regardless of what you and I think, than they have the right to make a song about it especially in an era where stuff like the police are really controversial. Again, generalizing and entire genre in that way isn’t okay when there’s stuff about that equally in any other genre.

I was just referring to music, of course there is some good out there. It comes down to personal taste, nothing on the radio today is my thing.
Yeah well there are a lot of people out there who genuinely believe people who enjoy rap and modern music are below them regardless of wether they want to admit it or not, not saying or trying to imply that’s you, just saying there are.

I'm not saying that any genre is better than another, but I will make an exception with Hip-Hop and Rap. Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock, Metal, Surf, Ska, Reggae, whatever it is you are into, I enjoy music which actually has instruments on it, and actually has people who can sing and hit a note. So, I won't argue that Rock is better than Surf, because with them you require talent and some understanding of instrumentation. That isn't the case with Hip-Hop or Rap. What instruments are on a Hip-Hop album? And even if they are, there are a billion or so effects over them anyway. It takes years to master an instrument, I believe that those that have dedication and have talent with an instrument should be considered musicians, and not people who work on a computer. Just my opinion though.

Getting off topic, back to the Christmas stuff. All I have to say is that metal is the best form of rock. That is all.

Greg Lake was such a talent.

Quiz: Which classic Christmas character are you?

Which Classic Christmas Character Are You?

My results:

You Got:
Ebenezer Scrooge
You are the very miserable and ever-grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol! Much like him, you are stubborn and sometimes mean. Not only do you hate the Christmas, but you also despise everything about the holiday season. Maybe if you open up your heart to a little Christmas cheer, you’ll be a totally different person.

Yeah... right... like that’s ever gonna happen. Bah Humbug!

I got Ebenezer too. :)

There was a question, What is your favorite thing to do in the snow? and writing your name was not one of the choices so I didn't know how to answer that one. :)
