And it's a kingdom, not a republic.

Just curious EJ - you're Scottish - are they generally a stubborn lot? (I married one of them)But how can you enforce any of this?
Okay - I'll be right overWe have cookies.
But doing what I recommend will also help "flatten the curve" without destroying the economy. We've recovered from bad economies that are even worse than it is now so that is certainly not worse. Getting a handle on the spread of the virus should be the first priority. The problem with some of the bullet points above is that either we don't already have the resources or that people are just not stepping up to voluntarily do the things that would make it unnecessary for governments to shut things down.
All I know is that I'm willing to do my part but there's a limit, even at my age, for how far I'll go to "take one for the team to save the economy."
"Healthcare is a basic human right, not a commodity to be bought and sold. Profit and healthcare should never go together."You don't have to give blood in order to save others, but if you don't you pay for the testing yourself.
I'll believe China over any US network anyday. And least they admit what they are.You believe what China says?
Sleeping Beauty posted over at our sister site but I think it should be here as wellHeard a good interview and a very important catch phrase.. THINK POSITIVE. The meaning of that: THINK as though you were POSITIVE for the CoVid19. Think about those you are around.
We're stubborn about the things we are passionate in. So, that includes Socialism and hating England.Just curious EJ - you're Scottish - are they generally a stubborn lot? (I married one of them)
Bloody Sassenachs! We're stubborn about the things we are passionate in. So, that includes Socialism and hating England.
IF people would actually do it, which is NOT happening to the level necessary to flatten the curve in an amount that will slow this down to the point that people won't just continue to infect others and starting the cycle all over again. THAT is another reason why it is imperative for everyone to shut down temporarily so it won't drag out longer than necessary and not open things back up too soon. Until they come up with a viable vaccine and protocol (not just anecdotal "cures") for treating people, we have to accept that things are not "business as usual" and taking baby steps won't work. We can already see how that worked in other places that thought they could do it half-assed. It didn't.But doing what I recommend will also help "flatten the curve" without destroying the economy.
It took 12 years & A WORLD WAR IN WHICH 75 MILLION PEOPLE DIED to recover from the one worse than we will soon see if we don't get people back to work, IMO.
Pretty sure I've seen that it is possible but they don't know if it was a relapse or the person was reinfected. One kind of scary thing that I'm not sure if anyone has the answer to yet is can we get it more than once? If the answer to that is yes, then we really have a problem.
Bring in the mullet, friend.I need a haircut.
Hey, you're a grandma. You'd die for the economy, right? We've recovered from bad economies that are even worse than it is now so that is certainly not worse. Sorry if got too political. To whoever deleted Wolfs post about Scotland, thank you.
I'm just joking of course, I've went out with an English woman, no bias in that department.....you know there are people from England here, who are our friends.
Let's be considerate in the way we speak of their Homeland.
We are allies.
