Day 13....... I'm bored and stir crazy. The house is really clean, though.......not that anyone can come over to see it. The basement is all set up with my sewing machine, and I'm washing the stuff I got from my family to cut up for my first quilt. Hoping I can order some extra fabric online, and maybe some thread. Turns out that hobbies aren't essential.
Just remember, you are doing the hospital and emergency services a great favour through this. Staying where you are is saving lifes.

Yes, it's saving lives and preventing the spread of the virus. It is my hope that everyone will do the same so that this can come to an end and I can get back to earning a living. I'm prepared to eat grass and grubs if I have to, but I'd much rather be earning money for my bills. I don't qualify for any unemployment in my state because I'm self employed, even though my business was mandated closed by the governor. The state is waiting on the federal pandemic funding guidelines before we can be paid. My daughter didn't qualify because she worked part time and didn't earn the minimum amount, even though the governor issued a stay at home order non nonessential businesses. I thought I would offer hair services at home, but learned that I can be charged with a Class II misdemeanor, and more importantly, lose my cosmetology license forever.
This virus is a serious business, and if everyone would have just sucked it up and sacrificed the 15 days in the beginning, maybe we would be in a better spot right now. Too few listened, now here we are.

You're right. Some did listen. And I agree with you 100%
If things would've shut down completely for the first 2 weeks, maybe 3, we might have been past it by now. Viruses can't live without hosts to feed on. It dies. And every single person that doesn't do their part is a possible host that keeps on spreading it, because, stomp stomp stomp, they have rights!

I went to the grocery store yesterday and watched this numbnutz couple, well in their 60s. No masks. No gloves, touching everything, being disrespectful about social distancing to those around them because, hey, it's all about them.

Day 919....still no sign of land. Smith and Jones both completely gone....were delicious in a little hollandaise sauce with a slice of kiwi.....Stars suggest I’m near Hoboken, NJ. I’m hoping that was indeed a Kiwi that completed my meal...didn’t know they grew on the Jersey shore.....

Exactly! Our grocery stores are limiting the number of people inside. I'm glad they're doing it, because so many people are still not practicing physical distancing, being disrespectful of others.

It’s starting to get nasty in the Poconos. Many people from NY and NJ have second/vacation homes here. They’re coming here in droves escaping the hotbeds of the virus in their states. You won't believe the number of cars with out of state licenses I see on the roads every day. Now sign’s like this are starting to pop up.

“To the people of New York and New Jersey, thank you for coming here and taking the supplies we need, and thank you for spreading the virus. Go back home.”

The feeling here is we wouldn’t much care if they were coming to shelter in place for 14 days, but they’re not. They’re going out every other day buying groceries, party supplies (and throwing parties if you can believe it), and household goods in our stores. They’re also running over to NJ to buy booze and returning.
