Let's remember, though, that the peak is pretty grim. It means, roughly, that we have the same number of infections, hospitals, and deaths ahead as we do behind - unless we do things that bring a surge.

Here in Colorado, the Governor is phasing in reopening as of April 27, this coming Monday. Bars still closed. Restaurants are still takeout or delivery only. But salons of all types, open, with strict protocols. Schools have all pretty much declared online only for the rest of the semester. I don't know about the petri dishes of public transportation and churches.

I hope the Guv is right. Because if he's wrong, what we're doing is building a bunch of new roads for the new-model Corona to roll on.
Agree completely. That's why it's so imperative for things to roll out slowly and to get a handle on testing so we don't just have a second round of infections that match or surpass what we've already had. I don't understand why some people just don't seem to "get" that. Even with having had measures in place for a while now, Massachusetts is seeing a surge just in the past couple of days. Rural areas that had seemed to be bypassed are finally catching up and seeing surges just as the experts predicted would happen.

It seems incredibly risky to go on with buisiness as usual so soon, I would reccomend that the Governor wait until the same date, but next month, and make a decision then.

Florida has been a catastrophe since day one. Cases are still increasing here. Boat ramps open, beaches open. Each county has it's own set of rules. My daughter sees little practicing of social distancing, or wearing of masks. Grocery workers still without masks, shoppers ignoring one way aisle, reaching over grabbing. Is anyone heeding the science?

But ... But ... SPRING BREAK DUUUDE! WOAHHHHHH!

On a serious note, it's terrible that people over there aren't taking it seriously.

I'm afraid that my county will see a rise in cases due to the fact that many of our summer residents come from Florida.

This hodge podge of rules between counties is a problem. We left our boat ramps open after the counties to the South of us closed theirs. Then we had all of these people coming up from South counties with the high infections to use our boat ramps.

My county has been fortunate so far and hasn't had many cases but the counties to the South have had big issues. What's going to happen is the places like where I'm at that don't have many cases are going to explode with cases when things are reopened.

The good thing about that nowadays is that they can do the lasik surgery at the same time.

I've been watching my eyes for a few years now. About 5 years ago, the doctor told my I had immature cataracts. So far, they've stayed that way and I don't need to do anything but I'm sure one of these days that will change.

Hillsborough's mayor was strict with rules and curfew. Gov. overruled. My county seems to have a free for all . Please stay safe.

If I was there, I'd have mine done with you. We could be eyeball buddies!
Hope the procedure goes well ♥
