The BOC are still great, managed to catch them on the last UK tour. They announced another show, but they are opening for DP. I'm a big fan of DP but not of this line-up. Show is in November but will definately get postponed. The shows will eventually happen, hopefully we will have a new album by then. :)
They announced a new album ages ago, they've played some of the songs live already. And they have a tracklist on their facebook. Some of the songs were written ages ago but never saw the light of day. If you haven't already I implore you to listen to their Rarities album, they have a lot of demos and unreleased songs on there. Also check out Buck Dharma's one solo album, Flat Out, and his three archives of all the songs you never heard.

Also check out these LPs from before they called themselves Blue Öyster Cult
Soft White Underbelly - YouTube

Off topic maybe, but there's a lot of stuff you want to hear from this. On their now-abandoned old website they have a whole list of the names of songs they wrote, never performed, or did record but it was lost to the test time.

I've always meant to get the Buck solo album, heard nothing but good things about it. Will check this out, thanks. :)

I've just had a thought. Why is it that when the Swine Flu broke out in, what was it, 2008-9? Why is we didn't shut down then? The symptoms of Swine Flu were worse than this Coronavirus, by far. Hmmm ... I can think of a few reasons.

In this day and age, public health and other science issues are seen as political issues, and political discussion is verboten in these here parts.

Here's the CDC overview.

A group that is also putting themselves on the line but not getting much attention are our local pharmacists who are considered essential workers. I'm hearing some horror stories about how they're being treated by the public and their employers from my daughter, including resistance to protect them by providing masks, gloves or protective barriers (as recently as the past month they were told by her corporate office they could NOT use them), using floaters in multiple stores to cover shifts instead of assigning one floater per store to reduce exposure risk, and who without notice changed their sick leave policies within the past month. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. :glare:

Ticketmaster is refusing to offer refunds ... figures.

Here's something else I found about who (allegedly) has the cash from the ticket sales

In an interview with CNBC Joe Berchtold, the president of Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, said, “Ticketmaster doesn’t sell these tickets and sit on a mountain of cash. Ticketmaster sells tickets and gives the cash over to the venues where the events are held.”

So Ticketmaster can’t give you a refund simply because doesn’t have the cash anymore—the venue does. That means it’s now up to that venue whether or not you’ll receive a refund for that postponed show.

In order for Ticketmaster to offer you a refund, it has to first get that money back from the venue, a prospect made much more difficult both due to the fact that many venues are closed right now, and because there’s a pretty significant volume of canceled and postponed shows to work through.

In other words ... Ticketmaster has already spent your money.

No. Ticketmaster acts as a third party agent to sell tickets for the venue. They keep the service fees, but the ticket price belongs to the venue, who in turn pays the band.
Well, Live Nation has already spent your money. At least in places like, say, Quebec, they have laws which mean that companies are not legally allowed to hold onto your money without giving it back if you so wish.

It looks like we’ve flattened the curve as a nation (which was the only goal for all the mandates) if we take New York out of the equation. New York accounts for about 40% of the nation’s coronavirus. And lucky me New Yorkers are invading us to escape the metropolitan area and bringing sickness with them. I live in the southern Poconos and we’ve seen very little coronavirus, but the northern Poconos is a coronavirus Hot Spot thanks to the New Yorkers and those from northeast New Jersey who ignore the recommended 14 day quarantine.

Hope the trend, except for NY/northern New Jersey/northern Poconos, continues.

Let's remember, though, that the peak is pretty grim. It means, roughly, that we have the same number of infections, hospitals, and deaths ahead as we do behind - unless we do things that bring a surge.

Here in Colorado, the Governor is phasing in reopening as of April 27, this coming Monday. Bars still closed. Restaurants are still takeout or delivery only. But salons of all types, open, with strict protocols. Schools have all pretty much declared online only for the rest of the semester. I don't know about the petri dishes of public transportation and churches.

I hope the Guv is right. Because if he's wrong, what we're doing is building a bunch of new roads for the new-model Corona to roll on.
