    New book news! (Finally)

According to Lilja's Library, SK said during an appearance in Iowa that he had written the first draft of a new book and it was scaring him to death. Apparently it's separate from SLEEPING BEAUTIES, the book he's working on with Owen. Can any of the mods shed some light on this?

More casting for DARK TOWER movie

The Dark Tower: Jackie Earle Haley in talks to join Stephen King movie | EW.com Can't argue with this casting, except I'm still not sure what the film's chronology will be. Hoping for Eddie and Susannah news any day now.

Episode 8: "The Day in Question"

So here we are, at the end, and it hit all the right notes for me. I can't imagine anyone would take issue with this episode, seeing as how it's the closest we've had so far to what was in the book. I was wondering if they would stay faithful to the ending of the novel, and I'm torn; I liked...

New book????? Someone explain this Tweet, please.

Stephen King on Twitter: "Photo's from the forthcoming book, HEARTS IN SUSPENSION. Hopefully this fall."

Some new information about the movie. . .

Abbey Lee is NOT the female lead of The Dark Tower and other Mid-World updates! Some of this is still going to piss people off, but there's at least one clarification which will make people feel better.

    Episode 5: "The Truth"

The episode was mostly another strong showing; TR Knight was a creepy and evil highlight, and the chemistry between Franco and Gadon shined as bright as ever. There were some pretty glaring issues, though. Bill being distracted by thinking he saw his sister was kind of dumb, but whatever. A...

Episode 4: The Eyes of Texas

Another fairly solid episode. I liked it because it focused mostly on Jake and Sadie and sidelined the Oswald stuff. As I suspected, Bill and Marina is a thing that is happening. I'm okay with it as long as it's organic to the story. Sarah Gadon is luminous as Sadie. When Jake mouths "I love...

Abbey Lee cast in DARK TOWER movie . . . but as whom??

Abbey Lee to star in The Dark Tower | Deadline Is this a joke? Was there some alternate version of the Dark Tower series I didn't read? Who is Tirana, and why is she being referred to as the female lead? Some changes are okay, and Idris Elba as Roland is intriguing, but this has me concerned...

    Episode 1: "The Rabbit Hole"

The first episode, "The Rabbit Hole", has been posted on Hulu's website! The changes are really interesting, like the writers didn't think the story would be thrilling enough as is. Franco usually strikes me as smug, so I kind of saw him as miscast initially, but he grew on me as time passed.

    Dream Stephen King Fan Convention

The "dream weekend with SK" post got me thinking: What would you guys think of a Comic-Con type event dedicated to King's works? Panels dedicated to the various projects created and inspired by the man over the years, from the books, to the comics, to the Carrie musical, to the movies and TV...

Why is it so hard . . .

Stephen King is one of the most successful writers in history. You'd think it wouldn't be so difficult to get feature-film adaptations of The Stand and The Dark Tower and It produced and done with a modicum of success. I find it annoying that Hollywood keeps churning out mindless movies with...

I much prefer this news article to the OTHER one that came out this week . . .

    Future works?

It worries me that we have no news on any projects coming down the pike past END OF WATCH (not to mention that that's a rather ominous title, heh). SK has trained us to look for meaning in the little things, but I'm trying not to. If one of the moderators could offer a glimpse of hope for...

    Just finished

How bleak and sad! It felt a lot like one of his short stories, stretched out to novel length, with no subplots, only two major characters, and the ultimate downer ending. It was really good though.

Well, this is unexpected, but I can dig it!

    Don't understand

I don't understand why this is so hard to get off the ground. I get that it's a big undertaking, but I feel like with the right cast, it would be a slam-dunk. I'm still lobbying for Josh Holloway as Roland, Lupita Nyong'o as Susannah, and Aaron Paul as Eddie.

    Matthew McConaughey as Roland Deschain?

Matthew McConaughey as Roland Deschain in DARK TOWER?! Is this news? It seems like his name's been bandied about before, or was that for THE STAND? Anyway, what do you guys think of this?

What would you get SK to sign if you could?

One of my biggest regrets is waiting too late to start collecting hardcovers of all the SK books. I'd give anything for SK to sign my hardcover of It. I know, that's not particularly special or creative, but that's all I want. Do any of you guys have something special you would get signed if he...

    Exclusive to Hulu?

For those of us who don't subscribe to Hulu, will there be plans to distribute this through any other format, like DVD? Thanks for any info.

    What happened to The Shop?

Reading "Obits" and the references to experimenting with mind control and LSD in the fifties made me think of this novel. I guess I was curious if SK ever had any intention of revisiting The Shop or Charlie, to resolve those storylines? The Shop especially seems worthy of more stories, since it...
