It's a fun movie. More Indiana Jones than Karloff's Mummy--even Flake could watch this one (;D )
Are we talking about The Mummy with Brendan Fraser? Great movie!

I've watched this several times. Think this is one of Dana Jean 's favorites.15. The Others
A mother of two children who are allergic to light are stuck in a house that seems to be haunted. This movie just seems to keep getting better with age, with Nicole Kidman's standout performance as a highlight. What I really love about The Others is that there are no apparent special effects, gore or CGI, yet it is very eerie and effectively scary, as well as setting a perfect atmosphere for a ghost story. The children in the movie give very strong performances as well, with only the supporting actors seeming a little out of place at time. I had the pleasure of watching this one with my 12-year-old daughter who loves ghost stories yet she had never seen this movie before and knew nothing about it. She was completely blown away by it!
4.5 out of 5 stars.

This was one of the first movies I watched this month. Maria Bello was the best part. There were a few unexpected turns at the end. Wasn't great, wasn't horrible. Worth a look if you aren't searching for a WOW movie.More of a question about a movie. Has anyone seen “Demonic” on Netflix? It looked promising.
Thanks Morgan. We're going to try this one tonight if we can get the 2 year old human hurricane to sleep at a decent hour...lolThis was one of the first movies I watched this month. 17) Friday the 13th (2009) - Couldn't find the original anywhere, so had to put up with the remake/reboot. Yeesh. Not as good as the original, and some of the characters (if you can call them that, they were so poorly fleshed out) pretty much had me rooting for the killer. 2/5
18) Maximum Overdrive - part of The Horror Channel's Stephen King season (4 movies! Cat's Eye, this, Thinner and Children of the Corn. We're being spoiled, I say! Spoiled! ). I had seen it before, though not for a while and...yeah. Still, the direction wasn't really that bad. Not when compared to...
19) Navy SEALS: The Battle for New Orleans (aka Navy SEALS vs Zombies, apparently) - Hm. First problem here is, the action takes place in Baton Rouge, so not really a battle for New Orleans. Even I know that. Second problem? These guys, to a man, are probably the most unconvincing bunch ever to have played soldiers on screen, let alone SEALS. Third problem (maybe should be second, but there you go), you can see ordinary life going on in the background in multiple scenes. I'm giving it 0.6/5 only because it was still better than The Black Room, but only just.
(I'm really struggling to find things to watch this year. Netflix and Amazon seem to have stocked up on wall-to-wall crap, with no one else apparently carrying the good stuff. )
