When I turned 12 my godmother got me two records for my birthday. One was Tiny Tim’s Tiptoe Through the Tulips and the other was that one by the Carpenters. I never had the heart to tell here later that year I snuck off with a friend and his brother and went to Woodstock, therefore never ever played those records. :)
Thinking more about it, it wasn't a Carpenters record I got, it was a Sonny and Cher record. For some odd reason mom and my aunt (godmother) really got a kick out of Tiny Tim, and loved Sonny and Cher (I think it was their crazy clothes).

When I was 12 and whenever someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always said Cher. They didn't ask many questions after that.
