I would probably stay by myself, I am extremely comfortable with my own company. I must admit though I do chat away to myself when I'm on my own (husband works away and kids are teenagers - so hardly here!) But if someone stopped by I would be happy to pass the time of day with them.

I'd seek out other people but I'd be selective about it. When there is no law & order, people tend to show their cruel side. I'd be wary of anybody I came across, be heavily armed, and keep wandering until I found people that seemed halfway decent.

However long the initial shock would take to go away so I was able to think clearly, I would then understand that anymore encounters with humans must come through careful searching or dumb luck; still, as soon as I felt physically and psychically able, I would set out to find them, if they God help me existed, knowing that otherwise I'd certainly be doomed in this world meant for more than just me.

I'm pretty introverted, so my first impulse would be to hunker down and mourn my family alone. Bottom line, though, people need other people to get along. Alone, you're a sitting duck for anyone with bad intentions that rolls through.

If something like The Stand happen in real life and you were the last person left in your city would you want to leave and search for other people or stay by your self and enjoy the solitude?

At first, most likely the latter. People I'm not friends with have a tendency to get on my nerves. Well, people in my age group (bah, teenagers :barf:). I can be a wee bit misanthropic sometimes. But at some point I'd probably get bored, and end up roaming around like Mad Max, looking for something to do.

TBH i probaby would not go anywhere at first because it would take me time to get over the loss of family but eventually i would go looking because i would need people to talk to..
This would be my inclination as well.
I'd go looking for my friends' kitties, to see if they survived, and bring them home with me.
Nothing like a super-flu to turn a girl into Crazy Cat Lady, huh?
