The thoughts are definitely appreciated (thank you) but I would just like to mention that although all of the messages need moderating, it is still up to DJ and I as to how and when we do this during Marsha's offline time.
Living in separate hemisphere's is actually a bonus because it ensures the board is covered pretty much around the clock.
Marsha has been concerned that we need to take more care of ourselves and so in that regard DJ and I have decided to take a (separate) day off each, during the week/and or weekend so we will both have some down time.

We are feeling more rested now too after the break. :)

I would just like to point out again that much of the situation leading to us needing to take a break was not necessarily that we work 7 days, (we do not work 8 hr days) but more, it was caused because of a number of people were using poor judgement within the threads. It didn't matter how many times we asked for it to stop, the weekend attitudes were often a lot different to the ones shown when Marsha was on duty during the week and so it all became a bit accumulative and eventually got to the point where we really didn't feel like giving up that free time on the weekends, if it wasn't going to be appreciated.
Yes, we did become exhausted, but the situation is what let to the fatigue. (which btw in the history of the MB has only happened to this degree on one other occasion, years ago)

I think occasionally long term members can sometimes begin to feel a little bit of entitlement, or ownership of the MB when they've been through so much with other people, but the whole point in having a community, is to have diversity... and the moderators are here (hopefully) bring the balance back in when things go wrong.
Sometimes when we have to step in to a situation, feelings can be hurt... because as mods, we're not just looking out for Stephen's site... we are also friends of the members here too. It can be very difficult being both sometimes.

There is no intention to add extra moderators as (I think we've mentioned this previously?) having 3 people moderate a board (as smoothly as we can) can be difficult enough without adding in extra people.
 Well said, Flakes.

I've been out of the loop for a few weeks Flake, did I read somewhere you had a birthday recently? If so, a very happy belated birthday wish to you, I hope it was a good one.

You are the best of the best, Flake!! I must say that i'm looking forward to it being open on the weekends again but if you or DJ ever should feel the need for a break, take it. You are more important, remember that. Hugs to you and all of SKMB!!!!!

I cannot tell you folks just how happy I am to be back on the SKMB with 'live' postings coming thru. I really miss my weekends on here. Life becomes quite dull and bleary when I'm not on here with my friends. This place makes me laugh and makes me feel a warm glow in my heart. You all make this place such a fun and great place to come to and I can't thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart (yes, I do have one). If I could I would just hug the crap out of all of you!!!!!! ((((((SKMB))))))
You sound like me:

"Life becomes quite dull and bleary when I'm not on here with my friends." (sometimes I think I need to get a more interesting life :a11:

This is good timing anyway, - Andy is mad at me so if he is still mad by the weekend, at least I will have something to do! :biggrin2:

"I can't thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart (yes, I do have one)."

p.s. I know you have a heart!

Everyone better be good - no arguing with the Mods SVP :facepalm_smiley::m_snicker::m_yesss:

I agree - start arguing with mods, asking how to put them on ignore etc. (I actually saw this comment once) is like shooting yourself in the foot!

p.s. to the Mods - you work really hard and are most appreciated.
Thanks for being there for us - it makes this place so much more civilized!:okay::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
