Do you have in your state or country a bag fee for shopping bags? I went shopping in Chicago this past weekend and they have 7 cent per bag fee. We do not have a bag fee in Indiana.

A Plastic Bag cost 10-60 Cent here.
You can buy a Jute Bag instead, it cost 1€.

I'm with Gazman .
It changed the way, people shop.
You see more People with a jute Bag or something similar

We have it here in Canada. A nickel a bag in most places. I have about 15 reusable bags in the Jeep and I always remember them when I am paying for more plastic bags. It's a slow learning process with me. I am concerned that we may have too many reusable bags in peoples vehicles. I hope those ones are recyclable. Initially, when recycling came into effect, the plastic bags were a big recyclable item. I learned that they make fleece stuff out of them. That has reversed several years ago and now you can no longer recycle plastic bags. I always thought that reversal was a bit odd. I blame 'Big Recycling'.
....we have bags for a store that we commonly shop at, and they are re-usable.....we also have a ginormous lot of them, because my dumb ass keeps forgetting to put them in the ride and then we have to buy more when we get there......arrrgghh!!!...

I do exactly the same thing. I have a bazillion recycle bags I buy. Sometimes I remember to put them back in the trunk, sometimes I don't.

Sometimes I have them in the car and walk in only to remember they are out in the car, and I'm too lazy to walk back out to get them.

...we always have to keep a quarter in the rig as well, you pop one in to a cart "chain buckle" and "rent" your cart while you use it....keeps people from leaving buggies everywhere in the parking lot if they want their quarter back.....

wow! I have never heard of that.

There are carts all over the place here. You walk an obstacle course of them to get in the store. Which drives me batsh*t. When I walk in, I grab at least two carts if they are around. I push one and pull the other. My random act of kindness I do every day.

....I almost always grab stray carts and take them in or at least shove them into the cart corral....the old stock man in me never died....used to have to go on cart runs all the time when I worked at Kmart right out of high school.....gotta tell ya, nothing rivals the bouquet of a full diaper left in a cart in the hot summer sun.....

what I always find interesting, 5 people ahead of me walk through the maze of carts only to get in the store to go to the cart rack. I'm thinking, really?

You just walked by about 10 very acceptable carts that you could have grabbed. Not only would you have done a good deed for the poor pack mule that has to collect them, but you would also clear the path for other shoppers like yourself, or who are handicapped in some way or in a wheelchair.

And, by grabbing one, you walk straight in and start shopping instead of getting in the cattle line waiting your turn to get a cart. And some dipwad always grabs a cart and stands right there to rummage through their purse or fuss with a kid instead of walking out of the way so others can go about their business.

If only I ruled my little corner of the world...

Our city is in the process of banning plastic shopping bags. Apparently they get caught in the recycling rollers/machines. But, being the one who doesn't like to be forced to do anything, I ask 'What about the little plastic bags that we are using to put produce in? Aren't they the same thing?' Just something to think about....

Don’t your buggies go to the car? We often just bag the groceries at the car. Especially at Walmart because that is the store we most often forget to bring the bags in.

They bag our groceries in the store. If I take in my recycle bags, they use those, otherwise, they use those cheap plastic bags.

When I use my recycle bags, I take them in the house to unload them and forget to put them back in the car, or if I remembered to put them in the car, they are in the trunk so out of sight, out of mind.
