Hubie Marsten (owner of the Marsten House, Salem's Lot; still hanging around); King touches on their last moments lightly, telling us that no one knows how it was for him and Birdie at the end - what he did to her and why she begged for death. I think that story would make a hell of a book. I'd hear more if he would tell it.
