I finally installed the lamp for the painting above my bed - now all I need is a frame for the thing. I probably need to raise the light up an inch - it isn't as bright as it looks in the pic, though.

This is called "Rain Forest" by my late uncle Robert Venosa. He was a surrealist back in the 70's, used to hang out with Dali, Giger and some of the other great surrealists back in the day. One of the cool things about my uncle's technique is he would selectively use limited glazing in his paintings. Those drops of water are all glazed and really pop when the light hits it. It almost looks like the painting has water droplets on it. This is actually one of his much more normal paintings. Many of them are very surreal and crystaline looking.

* I hope this works. I still can't tell if my pics are showing up!

It shows up for me. It is beautiful and must be even more so in person.
