    Jamie Morton = Bradley Cooper
    Charles Jacobs = Russell Crowe

Hard to cast because they age in the book....

Yeah, well for Jamie anyway..... I can't think of ONE current child actor...

For Jacobs, I'd pictured James Spader. He's a favourite actor of mine and I think he could play virtually anything. To paraphrase a quote from Kevin Smith when talking about Ben Affleck, I think that Spader could play the shark in a remake of Jaws heh.

For Morton, I saw Edward Furlong. His life somewhat mirrors Morton's, and I always recall Furlong's grungy look from T2 when imagining aspiring young rock stars.

  10. For some reason, I pictured David Morrisey ("The Governor" from "Walking Dead") playing Jacobs, at least in his post-pastoral phase.

Bryan Cranston for an older Charles Jacobs. Bradley Cooper for young Charles. Timothy Olyphant for Jamie.

Jacobs - Kiefer Sutherland; he's got the middle-aged Jacobs down right now, and with a little ageing he could look just like Donald did circa 1990.

Necro-ing this thread because I just finished "Revival." Now, this may only be because the hubs and I have been watching a lot of "Parks and Rec" recently, but...Usually I never have a very clear picture of book characters in my head, but this time Jamie (or at least young adult through recovered addict-Jamie) was definitely

    and Charles Jacobs was present-day
. Especially as he aged through the book. He has that perfect look-handsome and charming, yet intensely haunted and unhinged just below that smooth surface.
