I thought about making molasses cookies, but the soft ginger cookies I make have quite a bit of molasses in them, so I thought it might be too much overlap.Molasses cookies are THE bomb.

This thread made me bummed out. I have never received Christmas cookies. I haven't seen one seen I was 18. I should make some and give them away that would be swell.
Yes. Giving them away will give you a boost!

You are a bad, bad man!
Recipe was not attached! (Pwease?)My kids love those! I haven't made them in a while--maybe it's time I make a coffee cookie with coffee icing that's pretty darned good, too.

Sure thing--I need to pull out the christmas cookbooks anyway, so maybe later today?Recipe was not attached! (Pwease?)
Those all sound really good! (Except oddly, I'm not a baklava fan.) I have a friend who would LOVE the Aleksandr torte. Send me as many as you can tolerate typing up.Todash, lemme know if you want any recipes for these. They're the Christmas standards in my family for years, but we don't make them all every single year now.
date bars with lemon icing
carrot cookies
pecan puffs
walnut crescents
Swedish ginger thins
Aleksandr torte (shortbread with raspberry filling and lemon icing)
thumbprint cookies (not sweet; filled with jams)
my bitchin' awesome sugar cookies
baklava à la grecque (with honey and lemon)
suggestions of old standards:
Toll House
oatmeal cookies made with dried cranberries instead of raisins
RIGHT? The nerve of some people's children. I mean REALLY.Recipe was not attached! (Pwease?)

Ouch... and damn. Sorry to hear that.Word to the wise: aluminum cookie sheets stay hotter much longer than ones not made from aluminum. DO NOT grab them barehanded, even if they have been out of the oven for several minutes. Otherwise, you may just lose an entire dozen chocolate cookies on the kitchen floor, as well as burn your hand.
I've heard.

Thanks for the tip! I got my hand under cold water right quick. Thankfully, it is only a first degree burn, very mild, actually.Cookies can be re baked. please take care of your hand. Note: keep some salt near you stove/ oven. If you burn your hand- immediately wet it with water and dump salt on it. The sodium will act as a saline solution and help the skin not to blister.
