I was thinking in my head, damn it's almost like they heard her........Why, I was sitting there watching those decorations go up -- in spirit anyway. Not ghost spirit, but just, spirit of the season spirit....you know, that old chestnut.

Thank you. I've seen some beautiful places in Florida. When it is cold and bitter here, Florida sounds like the most beautiful place on earth!Nothing like that in FL. Magnificent.
That is beautiful...I love the birds. Call me crazy, but the tree reminds me of a swan. This is a pic of Bowring Park ducks during the xmas season.

(Now I've got to get on mine - think I will look for some new ones this year)
....with all the extra people and their things crammed into my house, ain't gonna be much decorating....my suggestion of a big middle finger outlined in festive sparkling lights, did not meet with approval from the Missus.....
...outfreakinstanding!.....
Totally understand the upheaval! Two years ago when we lost my Poppa & uncle within a week of each other in Dec, I asked my kids if they'd mind if we went really minimalist. They were cool with it thank goodness... we took it to the extreme, all we did was decorate the chair that sits in the corner with some lights, tinsel and a Santa coming in on a wrecking ball.
When we had the dogs, and Santa Paws would bring them new toys, we'd take the old ones and put them outside on Christmas Eve. Most of you know about the "coons". Yep they would all be gone my morning. As time went on, and walks through the woods happened, some would be discovered. Often wondered if they had their own "celebration".
