I bought Easter Eggs in the days leading up to our (whole country) shut down. Out of 4 kids, I only have one living at home now... he knows all about the E.B, but we still have eggs appear outside the bedroom doors to wake up to on Easter Sunday morning. I also bought hot x buns a couple weeks ago and put them in the freezer.
My big kids... one is married and living far away, I will deposit money for them. The other 2 are living in flats reasonably near and I was able to drop parcels to their doors before lock-down.
My siblings both turn 11 next month and I don't know about their views on the Easter Bunny, my parents are the ones who just let us figure out everything for ourselves. I naysayer the naysayers about Santa Clause for maybe way too long, but to be fair those kids who had to rain on other kids beliefs about their favorite holiday icons were the worst. Regardless I appreciate that my parents still go out of the way for the authentic holiday experience with Easter and Christmas regardless of age.

As long as it's located entirely within your backyard it should be fine though. We used to go to an egg hunt at a local church until they decided to ruin it with communism (jk) their new rule where every single egg had a slip in it you exchanged for a gift bag, up to a total of 1 gift bag! Giving absolutely no reason or purpose to going out of your way to reach the more obstacle bound or hidden eggs. You really got to dampen on kids fun by trying to make things too "fair" I guess, I think it leaves a bad impression to kids though, completely damping on any ambitions to try to look for eggs.

Well, the whole... "As long as it's located entirely within your backyard it should be fine though." relates. :biggrin2:
I think it's cool the way your family celebrates... and you have twin siblings. Goodness, props to you for making it nearly to adulthood! (busy parents)

Yeah, good thing my dad can work from home. He used to always work from home until only a few months ago, he was a freelance programmer working for clients or something like that, but he recently decided to apply for a job doing computer stuff for some company I forget. My mom is a substitute teacher so she's not able to work right now but I don't think that's much of a worry.

It's hard to juggle jobs and kids... on the one hand, kids are our everything, on the other... jobs let us have our kids!

Right now, it's the hardest. My partner and I are both working in essential services, with a child still home, we're having to try and sort shifts to make sure someone is always home with the kiddo. It's got so hard that there are days when technically there's someone home... but that adult is sleeping because he did a night shift and is doing another one the very next night. (Paramedic, so sleep is important!)
It's hard, but we're very thankful because although we're at more risk of catching this thing, at least we're still in work! (look at me all smooth operator moderator, bringing it back to topic :Oo: :biggrin2: )

sleep is an off and on thing these days

stay up late and sleep in late, effectively doing nothing but listening to music and constantly refreshing pages to see if there's anything interesting to watch or talk about

it's nearly 5am here

Also can't imagine that essential services is the most joyous job to work now, if ever. So hope it works out for you and your family

Good Lord lad.. it's almost time for bed! :biggrin2: (yeah, I hear you... I go to sleep for a couple of hours, wake up for 4, nap for a short time before the alarm goes off.)
So much going through our minds.

Thanks kiddo... and yours also. I hope you get some Easter Eggs too!

Love to hear all the international customs that go with holidays. May you and family remain well, and enjoy the Easter celebration.

I ate my sister's birthday cake this week. My sister's birthday was a couple of weeks ago and she was going to come down but of course things went sideways and she didn't. I was at my mom's a few days ago and she told me she had made a cake for my sister and had frozen it. So I took it and ate it. :)

I should have one of those shaming signs around my neck like the dogs wear, "I ate my sister's birthday cake"
