Heart of the South
It's already bad for self employed hair stylists. I usually see between 30 and 70 people a week. This week, I have a grand total four on the book for the week.
Sunny this breaks my heart!

Someone close to my heart has struggled for a few years starting his own business - just a few weeks ago landed a big client - we were so happy!! - guess what has closed down? His big client! So the fallout begins. The financial stress is hard, but watching someone you care about see their dreams crumble is wretched.

Our Diocese has suspended Masses. Priests are required to celebrate a Mass everyday, BUT no one has to be in attendance - they can celebrate alone, and so they shall. My job depends on donations. In my personal finances, donations are the first to go when I need to reduce expenses. I'm going to need to find another job- it hasn't happened yet, but it will.

The financial fallout is going to be very bad for the planet.

But it's necessary to stay home and away.

I remember thinking it was just silliness last week when school extended Spring break to deal with this. And then yesterday we just shut down everything.

I toast you all! Be well, take care of each other. Maybe we'll emerge as a new creation - something better, ever hopeful.

Dana Jean You are the MOST BEAUTIFUL!

I think that is nonsense.. this disease does not discriminate between young and old, rich or poor, I saw today an Italian soccer player died at the age of 21, he had leukemia which he was unaware of, until he couldn't breathe when this virus also attacked. Being divisive is ridiculous and not fair to older people, for crying out loud they built our countries and made a pretty nice living for most in developed nations. Not meaning to make this political, but my oldest sister lives five minutes from the hot zone in NYC, and has been sick all winter, and I am worried about her. I don't want her to die, and it doesn't matter how old you are, frankly, I don't anyone to die but we must deal with it, and as united people rather than dividing up into this one deserves to die, that one deserves to die..
Positive vibes and prayers for your sister. (((mjs9153 )))

I respect your opinion. I could give some very good examples of diseases totally ignored until it effected a certain group or class of people, but again, it would take it hot topic.

I'm not saying that is the case here with COVID. I talk that this has happened in history with certain epidemics.
I wasn't responding to you DJ, but to the young person with the outburst in Sweden.. I saw on twitter that Vanessa Hudgeons, who made insensitive comments about it all, well she walked back her comments. I looked at her profile and one of her followers actually said that people who were sixty, seventy, eighty, all had already lived a long time so it was okay if they died.. I just don't know where people's hearts are these days, certainly not our finest hour..

Oh, I see. It is totally NOT okay that they die. Unfortunately, it seems to be the attitude of SOME young people that, I'm okay, so I don't have to worry about my fellow man. No matter what the age, we should do our part to be a good citizen of the world and not infect others if we are sick. And not hoarding stuff. Be sensible! This is an equal opportunity virus. Most people will do just fine. But we have vulnerable people out there and we just need to be kind and try hard to just work together to fix this.

And then, of course, we are more scared of this Corona thing because, to differentiate it from many other dangerous diseases, it is still rather unknown. We are always more scared of the unknown and easily panic over it. And it also makes anyone an expert. You see in the media and hear on the town people with firm beliefs on what is best to do, often contradicting, both with other "experts" and real experts. If, like many suggest, it comes again for a second visit in the fall sometimes we probably wont be as panicky. Its like the people that had to live with the Plague for centuries. When it first visited Europe in 1348 it was panic but in the 17, century the people took it in their stride. They know what was wisest to do and knew some would die but they did not panic because they know what they were dealing with. And, honestly, i'm not really surprised that something nasty come from somewhere. It was more a matter of time IMO. In that way i think were lucky that this something has a mortality rate on perhaps 1,5 % and not 15 or 30%. As a referencepoint the plague, when it first hit Europe had a mortality rate of 35-50% depending on where you measure. (Scotland went almost scotfree from the plague by the way. coincidence or are scots made of sterner stuff?)

Everyone, wherever you are in the world, please, make an effort to be safe. As Trump said, stay home & enjoy your living room.

I was moments ago thinking of hopping into the old war wagon and going out to Kroger to score some chicken livers & bottled water! Then I realized, that sh-t comes right out of the faucet! Not chicken livers, water. And it's not bad. If you dump some Cool-Aid in it.

Want to know where all your rains are?
On tooo many store shelves of tooo many places.
I HATE Snow Globes too.

Too many rivers, streams etc fouled?
Well, that is mankind's stupid fault.

End of Days', (2008) written by late Sylvia Brown...

"In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely,"
This except explains A LOT.
And nature will be back in tens years to take care of what Corona missed the first time round.

WHY were my posts deleted?
They were there to make certain points and there was nothing wrong with them.
And who deleted them?
I deleted a couple of your posts as you had just quoted yourself without adding any new content, my thought was that you had already made your point (and we usually just delete duplicate posts anyway)
The reason you had so many deleted tonight was that you just kept re-posting the same one each time it was deleted. :biggrin2:

I understand that you were trying to turn the conversation more toward the light-hearted, but I suspect many folks would expect to find more serious conversation under the thread-title "Coronavirus" considering the nature of the situation.
(The I’m Jealous Of The Big Threads 4 thread might also be a good one for posting all the funny Corona Virus meme's to?)
