Same here... LOVED the first two books but had trouble with the third book. I thought the third book was the end of the series and gave my books away. I'd need to reread them before reading the next two (two?) books but I don't want to purchase the first three again
Rereading finders keepers? That book zapped me of virtually all my will to read. I also have end of watch but I think it will be a while before I read it, mostly because of how much I didn't enjoy finders keepers, but also because of the way it looks like it's going.
Bill appears to be sick, maybe terminally (holly is concerned about his weight loss in FK, and in the excerpt of EOW he is at the doctors with a bad stomach and the doctor says this is the part of my job I don't like). Both the title and the working title (suicide Prince) suggest a finality that comes from the death of a main character, something king seems to be fond of doing.
I thought when this would be a trilogy it would be 3 different antagonists for 3 different stories so I'm a bit disappointed that it's Brady again. I also thought it was meant to be all out 'cat and mouse' crime thriller, now it looks like it's back to the supernatural with brady's esp.
It just seems like book 3 is going back, but after book 2, maybe that's a good thing.
Of course I could be wrong on those assumptions, and we shouldn't judge a book by its cover etc. But that's just how FK made me feel.
I didn't like Finders Keepers as well as Mr Mercedes and I was afraid to read End of Watch for the same reason you gave in your spoiler, but I read it anyways and EOW is my favorite book in the trilogy
I finished The Silent Corner while working my night shift last night.
Started a bit slow, but picked up quickly and has left me wanting more!
Recommended!
koontz is good author. i've got almost as many books by him as i do by king (although a lot more of his on my TBR pile). my favorites are Strangers, Phantoms, Watchers and probably Midnight (i'm a sucker for a good story tearing a whole town/city down around people's ears, as you can probably tell from half my choices).
I read Watchers about a year and a half ago. Loved it. Gave it to my mom to read because I knew she would enjoy it. She's on her FOURTH re-read of that book already! LOL
Slowly I've been rebuilding my paperback collection of Anne Rice and Dean Koontz.
Last month I found The Taking in paperback from a thrift store. What I'm planning on doing is getting the other 4 books of Koontz's Frankenstein series

Started the first Frankenstein book, but can't remember if I finished it. Just didn't get into it at the time. Need to revisit someday.
Read the first four Odd Thomas books and thoroughly enjoyed them. Think I stopped because I couldn't get the next one at the library. I have every intention of finishing that series.

I can't think of the title now, but I always liked the one where the satellite shot the big ole ray beam down and blew up the house .... Oh, and Bad Seed about the stalker AI smart house....
