Going to agree, favorite story in book. Filled with nostalgia, loss, movies. Joe did a great job in weaving this story , the ending was so touching!

You should! It's a short story and moves along quickly - no gore or anything yucky in it - I thought it was a very good example of what a good writer Joe is!Hmmmm.....I may have to finally read this one.

I've read Horns and Heart-shaped Box so have a little experience with his writing, but that's it so far.
You will enjoy this story- short read, tightly "knitted" together.
Plus it helps to be old enough to remember movie theaters that played one movie.
...I found it to be a rather melancholy but beautiful look at love and life.....Joe is a dandy......
Possible suggestion-- since next Wednesday, 21st, is the day before the American Thanksgiving, many will be busy with travel or food prep.

I really love this story. I wanted to sit next to her and help her. Quite a good bit of writing to imbue a ghost that's barely in the story with so much sympathy. I also love that the story had a happy ending. That doesn't happen often in horror stories.
The next story will be Wed the 28th. Any volunteers to pick a story?

I agree. Never before has a story collection so surpassed my expectations, and I haven't even finished the book. Joe Hill is a powerful writer. Period.

If it's okay with you guys, I'd like to choose "A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty. It is a short story I discovered last November and it takes place over the Christmas season although it's not a Christmas story, per se. Please, do me the honor of reading it- it'll break your heart. Welty is my favorite writer. Here is the author reading her story, but the free pdf is available online.
