I love to dance. LOVE. Pretty much every day I have myself a lunch break booty shake at home, and when I go out dancing, I am there to dance. I'm not there to eat, drink, chat, flirt—none of that. I'll dance until I'm exhausted, dehydrated, red-faced, and just about ready to puke.

I might have a problem.

At my wife's work Christmas party, the only social event of the year my wife doesn't give me an "opt out" option for I usually end up having a mental, some years verbal, depending on how much she has had to drink, show down with the "dance sergeant", my wife's nurse manager at her clinic. My wife always tells me that her manager tells her at work "This is the year I'm going to get your husband onto the dance floor". Gina always tells me she plays along with her nurse manager and tells her to give it her best shot but to herself she knows there's a better chance of the Christmas dinner being invaded by zombies than me getting on the dance floor. It just ain't gonna happen...lol...course....I'm ready for the zombie invasion if it happens.....but that's beside the point.....right? Yeah?

I never dance. I always try to find the other people who aren't dancing and stick with them.

My husband's a shy academic person… he has to be totally plastered to set foot on a dance floor and even then he gets that animal-caught-in the-headlights look on his face. I've thrown all hope of dancing with him out the window... Seems mean of me to make him do it!

I think your husband and I share some of the same stances on dancing, but I've yet to reach the level of intoxication that convinces me I can dance. I think I fear embarrassment more than anything in the world...lol

My daughters were telling me that now people just get up and dance at clubs… gone are the days when a woman sits around hoping a man will ask her. Yay! I'm sure the ratio of women to men dancing is always lopsided!
