Hi all, I was just wondering if you have to read the shinning before you can read docotr sleep. Just wondering. Thanks

Nope, though some of the references would probably make more sense with background info. The story isn't dependent on The Shining, though.

If you have the choice, I'd say read The Shining first. That will make Dr. Sleep more enjoyable, IMO.

Everyone should read 'The Shining' anyway. I would read it first.

No offense, Hill lover but you have a really bad autocorrect - it is The Shining, not The Shinning

Revival was pretty good - I still have to read End of Watch but I have read Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers

I was surprised at how much I liked Revival. It was a quick hitter and I never felt like I knew exactly where the story was going to end up.

No big deal, Hill lover :) The autocorrect or extra "n" made me hear Groundskeeper Willie's voice in my head. The Simpsons is one of those silly yet brilliant shows and they did an outstanding job when they spoofed Kubrick's Shining!

For what it's worth, today a friend text me to give me some information regarding a project we're both working on. I text back "good thing" and it autocorrected to "food thong", LOL!!

Defiantly read The Shining first, because that way you have at least read The Shining.

Yes, twice. I read it when I was about 15 (my first King novel) and then 22 years later re-read it to refresh myself for Doctor Sleep.
