I just read a review - it sounds like it's quite a departure (well at least according to the reviewer)Elevation, 144 pages, published as a novel and listed for $19.95? Last night I pulled out my copy of the novel that includes The Mist. The story is 134 pages and one of some 23 or so stories in Skeleton Crew. I think we’ll be hearing a lot of gripes over this one. Regardless, as a fan, I’ll be buying it... Maybe that's the problem.
Okay, I think that review is pretty clever. And he does say, it is trick AND treat.I just read a review - it sounds like it's quite a departure (well at least according to the reviewer)
"How fair is this? On Halloween, we creep into Stephen King’s lair for terrors and scares, but here he is offering us insight and courage instead. You’ll chew through a few chapters of “Elevation” before realizing there is no razor blade in this caramel apple. King’s new novel is trick and treat, a poignant parable of prejudice overcome and resentment healed. The calls are coming from INSIDE OUR CONSCIENCE!"
I ordered one from the library but there is a huge list ahead of me, so will have to look around our city to see who is selling it (hey at least I won't get sore wrists from holding up a 400 page book!)

SorryNomik, that must have been a bad link as it was doing weird things, flashing large to small over and over.
I removed the video but there is a link to it on the homepage people can watch.
You do realize you just said sorry to a post from back in July that has been taken care of months ago?Sorry
Nobody within 75 miles is carrying it.
Sometimes country living sucks.
OK, I lied.
Damn near all of the time country living sucks.
Maybe now King can buy that village.I suppose the answer is that no one is forced to buy it, but I agree that it is somewhat unfair to those fans who buy everything from him. And some of these shorter "books" are made a bit longer by having larger font, blank pages between chapters, double spaced etc. Basically a short story on steroids. But life is short and I'm putting that one far down on my list of grievances. I'm just hoping Cemetery Dance has their act together and gets their copies in the mail before the next ice age.
I know how you feel, man. I live in a small town and I have to make like a 2 hour road trip just to go to the city and a Walmart to buy a new book even if its a new Stephen King book.
Find out the store # , if they do not have the book. Maybe the publishers would be interested in knowing distribution is slow/ nil in rural america.I had a reason to come to “town” today so I’ll stop in at Wally World to see if they have it, but I hold very little hope.
....you and me both.....slow as they are, I may have it read at my funeral.....I suppose the answer is that no one is forced to buy it, but I agree that it is somewhat unfair to those fans who buy everything from him.
