Well of course I know its One of Odin's Ravens flying with Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir. I am really big on Norse Mythology and heritage.

Also that image was used on AMORPHIS'S "Tales from the thousand Lakes" album as the cover. Great Folk/Metal band if you are into that kind of music.

As for meeting up, I am always up for meeting a like minded SK fan, and discussing some of his works, and I certainly prefer Tea over coffee. But as it stands now, I am working that day in Maryland, then leaving in time to drive the 3+ hours to venue. I expect since I don't have to be there to early for getting a good seat that I will arrive close to time to enter. But I will message you on here if I happen to be in town with time to spare. Jersey City is not much for the "sights", well not pleasant ones that is.
While JC has its share of depressed areas as many larger, urban cities do, it has many very good restaurants, shops, historic landmarks (the Loew's theater at which this event is being held is just one), amazing views of NYC, artist enclaves, etc. Having been born and raised in JC and living a mere few blocks from it now, I kind of take offense at your statement.

Alright!!! My favorite band and my favorite album. Seen them in concert a few times. Had them sign my copy of Kalevala right on the page where "Black Winter Day" lyrics were taken from.

Let me know if you make it a little earlier. Also, if you find yourself in the Times Square vicinity, give me a holler and we'll hang out.

Well I figured someone would. Days not complete unless someone gets offended. While Jersey City is no Camden it certainly is up there as one of the top most violent city's in NJ. Detroit also has some historic landmarks and a good restaurant or two, still don't make that the most pleasant and safe place to visit.

Camden and Newark - murder capital USA #1 and #2 or something like that. My cousin did a stint at a Newark hospital pharmacy as a student. Said it was a nightmare. My other cousin lives in JC in one of those fancy shmancy high-rise rental units. Has really nice views of the city's downtown area. I haven't been there enough times to pass judgement, but I know not all of Jersey City is that nice.

When I bought tickets, it was 12:30 exactly when they went on sale. 10 minutes later when I hit refresh on the order screen, it said sold out already!
Wow. I'm so glad you got your tickets before they sold out. I suppose our Uncle Steve is a pretty hot commodity. Rockin' in the free world he is. I hope he knows how much he's admired.

Taking out the trash one minute and the next he's standing in front of an audience full of people who would do it for him all day long. What a good life he has. Right? :biggrin2:
Really though, I wonder how much satisfaction he gets from his tours. Probably quite a bit, or else I don't think he'd do it. I'm glad he likes talking to his Constant Readers. It is a singular experience, hearing him talk about his process and his life. He's a jolly time.
I want to do it again dammit.

This just posted for the Sewickley Event:

The Penguin Bookshop Presents...

"An Evening with Stephen King"
***
Wednesday, June 8th, 7:00PM
Doors will open at 6:00PM
Event will be held at:
Sewickley Academy's Rea Auditorium
315 Academy Avenue
Sewickley, PA 15143

• Due to capacity limits, each person is allowed to purchase a maximum of 2 tickets.

• Purchasing a ticket guarantees entry to the event as well as a hardcover edition of END OF WATCH. As a special bonus, a limited number of attendees will randomly receive signed copies, so we wish you luck! All books (signed and unsigned) will be distributed at the end of the event.

• Seating will be assigned. Purchasers of the Premium tickets (limited) will be seated in the first two rows of the auditorium. Those who purchase General Assigned Seating tickets will be assigned a specific seat (no specific seat requests will be allowed) and we will fill the rows in the order that the tickets are purchased. While we will try our absolute best to accommodate groups of 2 next to each other, there is a possibility that you and your plus one will be seated in different rows (though likely close together, directly in front/behind each other).

• Ticket sales will take place on three consecutive days:
-Sunday, April 17th, 11AM - 3PM at the Penguin Bookshop only
(no on-line or phone orders).
-Monday, April 18th, 10AM - 6PM at the Penguin Bookshop only
(no on-line or phone orders).
-Tuesday, April 19th starting at 10AM we will begin selling any remaining tickets over the phone.
-We will not be selling any tickets on-line.

Note: We will NOT take phone calls on April 17 or 18.

• Ticket Prices:
$38.00 General Assigned Seating
$50.00 Friends of the Penguin priority seating* (limited availability)
*2 seats will be donated to the Sewickley Academy Auction.

We are unable to offer refunds for any reason.

All tickets include a copy of End of Watch.

Stephen King will pre-sign 400 copies of End of Watch, which will be handed out randomly after the conclusion of his talk. NO ONE IS GUARANTEED A SIGNED BOOK.

Stephen will be talking, reading from END OF WATCH, and doing a Q&A. He will NOT be signing books at this event. Event will last approximately one hour.

For all of you who are coming to Sewickley for the Sunday, April 17 in-store ticket sale, we ask that you are considerate while waiting in line outside the store, that you do NOT save spaces for friends/family, that you respect the community, and that you are patient and kind to all those concerned with the ticket sales at the Penguin Bookshop.
Event Details:
Date: Wednesday, June 8th
Start time: 7:00pm
Doors open: 6:00pm

Please note: Because school will still be in session, no event attendees will be permitted on campus before 6:00pm.
Directions: Take route 65 to the Sewickley Bridge; take Broad Street to Beaver Street; turn left onto Beaver Street; take Beaver Street for approximately 1 mile; turn left on Academy Ave. Parking is available in both the front of the school, in the Hazel Street lot, and on the street.

End of Watch

In End of Watch, Stephen King brings the Hodges trilogy to a sublimely terrifying conclusion, combining the detective fiction of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers with the heart-pounding, supernatural suspense that has been his bestselling trademark. The result is an unnerving look at human vulnerability and chilling suspense. No one does it better than King.

The Penguin Bookshop will also have available for sale at the event copies of MR. MERCEDES and FINDERS KEEPERS.
A NOTE FROM YOUR FRIENDS AT THE PENGUIN BOOKSHOP:

Because we were committed to keeping this event local -- in keeping with the spirit of Stephen King's tour and his focus on smaller, independent bookstores -- we were limited with our venue choices. This means that we have approximately 600 tickets available, far fewer than many of the other wonderful stores on Stephen's tour. We know that Stephen King's fans far outnumber what we can accommodate, and for that we apologize in advance. For those of you lucky enough to attend, it will be an intimate event, a special evening indeed.

Please remember to support your local bookstore, wherever you live!

Just got my email about this as well, looks like I have a four hour trip one way just to get my tickets. But the chances of getting a signed book are possibly the best at this venue due to the 600 seat capacity.
