The new receptionist at work has seen my brother in the salon three times when she's closing up at night. He was killed in a car accident in 1998. She didn't know I had a brother, or anything of the details. She was talking about having seen an apparition in the salon several times, and she was a little freaked out. one of my co workers asked her to describe what she was seeing. The description matched my brother very closely. I said nothing, but showed her a photo of him, and her eyes got all teary and she said that's him. I have a really cool lamp on my station that belonged to him, and from time to time one of the bulbs loosens itself and turns off.
I'm still perplexed why he would appear to someone he never knew.

Maybe he realized she was open to it and was a way to validate he is there with you.

That makes sense. She told me that she's been able to "see" people since she was about four. She still sees her great grandfather when she visits her family. She hasn't seen him since I showed her the photo......but the lamp has been really active. Maybe he just wanted to hang out with me for a while, and wanted to make sure I knew it's him.
Still catching up on my reading after being away. This made my day! :love_heart:

I was reading that something like 45 percent of Americans believe in ghosts. I wonder if it is higher of lower worldwide. Here's an interesting article.

A lot of Americans believe in ghosts. But what do their ghost stories actually tell us? - The Washington Post

I'm reading a book set in the Scottish highlands - they definitely believed in all sorts of superstitions - especially fairies (faeries) and the like.

...this occurred quite a number of years ago as Tracy and I were making our way home from a trip to Northern Ohio.....somewhere along Rt. 30, we encountered a battered and completely dusty vehicle that was traveling somewhat erratically and probably 15 miles under the speed limit....as we pulled into the passing lane and drew even, we both noted that the driver appeared to be honest to god deceased.....his eyes were staringly open, fingers clutching the wheel-but he was as pale as milk and his face appeared to be "melting"....his tongue was lolling from his mouth, and his head seemed to rock back and forth with the motion of the car....there was a collection of some type of detritus that obscured the seats, and even it appeared old and faded......we tried to make eye contact to no avail, not even we layed on the horn....we passed on by and to this day feel he was some type of corpse that is forever racking up road miles across America.....

....this is well written, and I do believe in the paranormal, even my amateurish hunt for things beyond our ken has produced some interesting and unexplainable results.....
As has mine. I've shared this before. While touring the Old City Jail in Charleston SC, I snapped the photo looking down an empty stairwell hoping to catch some orbs. What I saw when I downloaded to the computer stunned me. It still sort of does.

Wow. I've for years maintained that I want some sort of supernatural experience. But I don't want that one. It makes me think of that old, brilliant, Spielberg TV movie Duel. Was the trucker was a ghost or not? To me he was. I'm glad this whatever didn't go all Dennis Weaver on you!

Oh, damn. I didn't see that right away, but when I did I let the expletives fly!

I don’t see anything. What am I supposed to see?

Also in 2006 I was working as a schoolteacher at Walgett High School and was driving back late at night Sunday and these three lights followed my car on my right hand side about 100 meters away about 50 meters off the ground and kept exactly the same distance even when the road meandered. This lasted for about 30 minutes. I stopped the car on the side of the road and then the lights zipped off after i got out of the car. I asked the aboriginal guy who worked at the school about it and he said that the ancestors of his people checking me out. They are called Min-Min lights.

Along the left side of the picture, a woman in an ante-bellum dress.

Okay, I'm apparently insane. I don't see that at all. I see a face in the window pane! And I don't even know what ante-bellum means! Is this like the pics they used to have at the mall that you had to stare at for 45 minutes?

Danie! Look at it ... look at it ... look at ittttt .... You might need to use the zoom. The left group of window panes, then the far right pane, four down.
I’m too sciency for all this stuff. I don’t see any face, and I can see where the left-side shadows could be in the shape of an old-fashioned dress, but our brains are designed to see shapes we know and with which we’re familiar. People will see what they want to see.
