The Blue Bloods season premiere was last night. It was fine, but it was short on the family dynamics that we enjoy and long on a storyline of attempting to thwart a terrorist attack. And it was..... fine. Nothing standout about it. Didn't even have the family talking to each other until the end scene at dinner. Makes me wonder if the cast is getting along.

I noticed my show "Grimm" was not on last Friday - I guess a new season starts in September? (I always forget that they take the summer off).I watched the premiere episode of Houdini and Doyle on Saturday. It's another detective show with mismatched partners but I liked it

Really liked Houdini and Doyle. Castle still hasn't been renewed, but Castle and Ryan have signed contracts if it does. The first articles I read about Stana Katic leaving the show stated she was leaving because she and Fillion couldn't get along. Now the network says they can't afford her? That doesn't sound right - the show chemistry between Kate and Richard was perfect! Surely the network doesn't think she can just be replaced by someone else?Having said that, I did lose a bit of interest in the show when they got married - kinda like how The Big Bang Theory lost viewers after Leonard caught Penny. It might be interesting to see who Castle's next muse is
not that she'd be a love interest... just someone who doubts Castle's abilities to solve crimes.
I'm also watching Lucifer which is another mismatched partner show lol. I like it a lot. I've had a bit of a crush on the actor who plays Amenadiel ever since he played Melvin on that The Temptations TV movie.

After weeks of debate over whether or not the show would be returning for a ninth season without Stana Katic, ABC confirmed to TVGuide.com the current season will be the show's last.

What is wrong with ABC??? It's so seldom that they have a winning show, when they do get one, they need to hang onto it! I quit watching Criminal Minds and Law & Order: SVU and all those other shows that feature criminals with deranged minds. I like a little comedy mixed in - like Monk and Psych and even The Closer. Im really going to miss Castle I'm also tired of zombies and vampires and werewolves. I used to love zombies before everyone and their dog started writing about them... except I still watch Znation and iZombie because they make me smile iZombie is actually pretty clever. I'm thinking about giving up on Midsomer Murders too - 9 out of 10 crimes are committed because of someone's infidelity and there's never any clue as to whodoneit until the end. What shows are you watching?
It's not a surprise Castle got axed. I couldn't see it continuing without Stana Katic. How stupid of them to not offer her a new contract. Sure, the show's named for Fillion's character, but it wouldn't have worked without Beckett. There were stories that Katic and Fillion didn't get along--that they even tried sending them to couple's counselling!
I read that article about couple's counseling. Been a viewer since episode 1 and agree, no matter how they handled Castle going it alone, it would not have been the same. Already decided if renewed, I was done. Time better spent reading. From other "articles" appears the writers are not pleased with needing to use the "alternate" ending. Monday's rating should be high!!
