Is this picture of Stephen King and Tabitha King, is that when King got the award off the President or is it a few years after he had the accident, he looks thinner so maybe it is shortly after the accident. Do you think looks a bit like Jim Carrey?
Here's King and Tabby on The Today Show, five months after the accident, and they look similar to the picture.

No shortly after his accident. I will try to figure out what event this was. It was not the one where he talked about how wonderful she was,
Chill. It's Stephen King's wonderful wrought iron fence.

Nothing more that you are trying to read into. And why did you go there?

Spooky and and a great way to honor his fans. In my opinion.

Oh it is an amazing fence I was just wondering if I was the only one who saw that. I can kind of see the spiders

I
I feel bad that you like Hill better than King, he might get jealous.
I think it’s an age thing. I am a 36 year old female and he writes closer to my age, and he adds fantasy in a way king does not. I love king and his work. I do need to read more of hill and king before I can judge, I really enjoyed tabby’s book one on one.

Wondering if the board was active at this time, and how it was handled.

Thanks, doc.

Steve's site first began in December 1998 that included the very first message board which has been mentioned before. It was just one long string of posts; no threads to sort them out so people would have to keep track of post numbers in order to reply to someone. We posted updates on Steve's condition on the Home page of the site and Jordan would have to help me out here, but I think he created a separate area where fans could post their well wishes.

I'm not sure but I think it's within a year of his accident. He's using some sort of crutch it appears. Hmmm, don't see the Jim Carry resemblance...
It was when they went to the movie premiere of The Green Mile in December 1999 so only 6 months after the accident.

I don't think the original message board was around until 2003 or so.

There was a Get Well guestbook on the site not long after Steve was hit, but the posts have disappeared into the ether. These were the health updates in November 1999.

There was something in place because I specifically remember one of Steve's friends having posted a snarky comment the day the web site opened to give us a hard time. ;-D

Yes, I was there. The message board started somewhere close to his accident.

Spideyman ?
Absolutely before 2003 one page as MsMod stated. Keep note pd by computer so you could write down the post # Read back pages to find what you wanted to reply about. Closed when MsMod walked out the door/ open when she walked in. No avatars, no threads
"Stay on Topic" was a fav saying. We freaked when it changed.

I can't remember that either. But I was there for the first message board, and it was close to his accident. I still have copies of posts from then, I should dig those out and get a closer date.
I have a copy of Flakes "and so Goodnight '06" post but it won;t copy- turns to Chinese characters. She posts of the Beta Testers there. Agree about the first single page MB.
