No missing fingers.....

He needs all the fingers he can keep to use that cell phone he carries in most of these pics. :D

And that blond woman may be someone from production/staff. Her regular hairstyle and clothes make her look that way to me (opposite to his looks, which are more in character).

Mercy - that man is handsome. Not what I imagined Roland to look like, but I'll play.
kingricefan "holding Mordred!" YES!!! I had no idea they were starting at Books 5 and 6. Interesting way to tell the story.
César Hernández-Meraz Yes - read the books before you see the movie or read anymore Tower threads. They're so awesome. And everything will mean something more than it already does.

In "Pacific Rim" I fell for Dan Torrance Charlie Hunnam because he looked just like the type I am usually attracted to...

But when Mr. Elba wears that special suit and then generously shows us his firm derrière, it kind of made my hand want to reach into the movie for a moment.

(I always prefer the characters to look as much as their original descriptions as possible, but I have already said that somewhere else, so I will only talk about Mr. Elba's behind good looks in this thread, even if he does not look like Roland.)

Why yes, yes he is :) Reserving judgment until they release more of a story synopsis. I suspect that it will have very little to do with the books, so it will be a matter of if the story they come up with is worthy of attention and captures the 'feel' of the books. It (mostly) worked with 11/22/63.

I've still got to watch 11/22/63. I got hulu just for that and never got around to it.
I agree - The Dark Tower will be hard to pull off as written on the screen. There's just too much to it. But I am suddenly aching to see him, umm, it... the movie I mean. For some reason I totally cannot see this hunk of a man dancing the Commala but again, I'm up for the journey.
