Even when you consider that MSU turned the ball over four times. I mean, there aren't many teams that can do that against anybody and win. Much less against Auburn. The four turnovers Auburn committed seemed much more damaging in comparison.

The Egg Bowl this year is going to be must-see television. I've certainly never said that.

There are some crucial SEC matchups coming up. the Egg Bowl and the Iron bowl are probably going to be huge. Plus I think Alabama is playing MSU (not sure but I think that's right). Notre Dame and Baylor look shaky to me (and FSU is not as good as last year) so I think there's a lot of shaking up still to go.

You are right about Alabama taking on MSU. I'm not even sure we can survive Texas A&M next week. MSU is a daunting task. LSU shouldn't be overlooked, either. They aren't the same this year, but they can be dangerous.

The SEC East is looking fun, too. Maybe for all the wrong reasons.

But it looks like the road to the National Championship goes somewhere through Mississippi so far.

I just heard that the Dolphins lost Knowshon Moreno for the season due to a knee injury. :upset: They got one full game out of him this year. Well at least Lamar Miller is starting to run more like he did in his Hurricane days but no one can block like Knowshon. I was counting on a good year from Knowshon.

That stinks. Lots of injuries this past weekend.

I think I've given up this season both in Pros (NY Jets) and college (PSU). Once again I have to go with my old standby... "Well, there's always next year." :(

So sorry, really.

Conversely, it's a good year here so far. The Broncos, although theoretically retooled to be better than last year aren't putting up the numbers, but they've still got just one loss, and that was overtime in Seattle. And the CSU Rams are off to their best start in about the last 15 years. (I just hope that a successful season doesn't translate to a new stupid stadium.... local hot-button issue, sorry.)

Starkville is ridiculous right now. The Dawgs hit the number one spot and everybody wants a piece of the action. Well, all I see are a bunch of greedy, egotistical a-- holes who have forgotten the people who keep this town afloat during the rough times.

If we lose the Egg bowl, maybe MSU fans will learn a little humility.

Garriga, there's no humility in football. ;-D

Try to ignore the greedy a*h*'s and enjoy the ride. MSU deserves their ranking. They still have a tough schedule ahead but they certainly look good.

It's been a fun couple of weeks here. After I finished laughing at the Bengals defense (again), I told my gf about her team's 37-point haul...in the highest-scoring tied game in history*.
She wasn't overly amused (again; her response the week before was "But the Patriots [expletive deleted] suck!" :D).

(* According to nfl.com on Sunday night.)

Not looking forward to tonight’s impending train wreck, but I hear miracles do happen on occasion, right?

The short week makes things even tougher. The road team is at a horrible disadvantage on a short week. And it's just not the disadvantage to the road team but the players are not recovered yet from Sunday so we are not getting them at their best.

If the NFL wants to play on Thursday, why don't they just give teams their byes the week before the Thursday game?

J-E-T-SSUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually they looked pretty good last night......
They played as best they could with what they had. They did some good things like run the ball quite a bit and stop the run on defense. But they have no deep threat downfield on offense other than Decker, and the opposing teams concentrate on him. And the Jets defensive backfield is probably one of the worse, if not the worse, in the NFL. The results of field goal attempt to win the game in the final seconds didn’t even faze me. I just said “figures!” and turned the channel to F-Troop... Seemed only fitting. :(
