So sorry to hear but as he had a severe case of Alzheimer's I hope he is in a better place now - it's a terrible disease
I loved his song "I am a Lineman for the County"....I just saw this....he charted 21 Top 40 Hits and blended Country, Pop and some Rock to become one of the biggest entertainers on the scene...he outsold the Beatles in 1968!....Glen had his demons, but finally with much love and support, he was able to cast them out and once again become the man with the boyish grin who would holler out the oft lampooned "Hi, I'm Glen Campbell!"....his songs evoke such a strong emotional chord in me when I hear them-no matter which they might be....all I can hope is-he has now remembered all the faces that will be glad to welcome him in the clearing.....the time has come old troubadour to hang up the rhinestone suit....
....Wichita Lineman....I loved his song "I am a Lineman for the County"
Yes - that's the one - thankee....Wichita Lineman....
After watching the Glen Campbell documentary last year it was inspiring to witness his extraordinary courage in the face of living with Alzheimer's. We have not only his musical legacy but the enduring spotlight and voice he gave to others fighting such a cruel disease.
