Over the past years the SKMB has had the tradition of celebrating Mr. King's birthday in a special way.


To raise your glass Just After Sunset and toast him a Happy Birthday. Done in each members time zone when their sun sets- so it becomes a rolling world wide toast. (It does not need to be alcohol, it can be coffee, tea, milk, water, juice.)

So, on his special day, raise your glass high and wish him well.

Thanks for letting us hunker around the fire with you while you yarn, sir. Your tales have been a gateway so many worlds; they've brightened my life immensely for nearly 4 decades, and I brought my kids along for the ride. Thanks for teaching me to write with joy, and integrity, and honesty, and making an example of how to see people clearly for what they are, but never lose hope for what they can be. Thanks! I hope you get a wonderful birthday in midst of your near and dear. I promise that I, here on the other side of the atlantic, will raise a toast to you. I'm thinking a little glas of GlenFiddich, a wonderful little scotch i got for my 50th birthday. I only drink it at special occasions but this qaulifies.
