I don't frequent these message boards so I apologize if this question has been asked and answered. I did a search and couldn't come up with a definitive answer so thought I'd create my own thread.

When searching the internet for The Dark Tower boxed sets it's common to see the books 1-4 as a set and then 5-7 as a set (Wind through the Keyhole never included in any set).

So my question is, has there ever been a hardcover boxed set of all 8 of The Dark Tower novels published?
If not, are there plans to do this?

No, there has not been a boxed set because up to this point only the limited editions were published by the same company. There aren't any immediate plans for a boxed set now that Scribner has the publishing rights for all the Dark Tower books but my understanding is that they are looking into whether that would be feasible.

What occurs to me is the size of the darn thing. I just can't imagine, looking at my bookshelf, how they could possibly put all 8 books in one slipcase both because of size (length) and the weight. I guess they could break it up into sections and have the covers and size all match although they'd be in separate slipcases. Would that still be considered a boxed set by collectors?

What about a collectors box set in the shape of a "dark" Tower? Might not be horizontal on a book self, but could make an interesting feature vertical on top the bookcase. (4,3,1)

Great idea visually! I'm still concerned about anyone having to lift that much weight, though. They might have to use handcarts at the stores to take them out to the customers' cars. ;-D

I'm sure that eventually some publisher will produce a boxed set of all the DT books. Look how many there are of the Lord Of The Ring books.
.....you disappoint me bubba......look at the beginning of Marsha's post in #9....if that didn't have "TWSS" written all over it, I'm a creepy purple monkey's uncle......;;D

I have to use the 'TWSS' sparingly or else it just becomes a cheap laugh......oh, wait a minute......;-D

And don't think I wasn't thinking about that when I read through the post two or three times to see if there was a different way I should word it.
