Heard some of the audio as Harrison was talking to the Tower. He sounded very calm.

No, it is not movierelated. He has always been a keen pilot and the plabne he was piloting got into trouble soon after takeoff. He managed to crash it where it wouldn't hurt people, in a golfcourse. He was wounded but will probably recuberate. Harrison Ford is invincible, you know. He is Han Solo, He is Indiana Jones, He is Jack Ryan, he is the Guy from Witness, The Fugitive and Blade Runner and a simple little planecrash won't take him down. Was this film related?
His kid tweeted that dad was battered but ok. (((healing vibes)))
How chewy he is? Yeah, I was wondering how Calista is doing. We could ask her.Has anyone heard how Chewie is?
Ask her if she's eaten anything in the last five years.....How chewy he is? Yeah, I was wondering how Calista is doing. We could ask her.

He was also President.
I read about that, too. He seems not to have forgotten the little people and his roots. I think he wanted to be an actor but for some reason couldn't get hired so he returned to making a living as a rough carpenter. He was building a deck for Francis Ford Coppola who "discovered" him.I've read where Ford is also a helicopter pilot if I read correctly. Some article a few years ago reported that he used his own helicopter to assist in a search to find someone who was lost in the mountains around his home in Wyoming or Idaho maybe? Not sure of the details but I remember reading it somewhere.
Wasn't it George Lucas who discovered him? First with the bitpart in American Graffiti and then with the lead in Star Wars?I read about that, too. That might be true, now that you mention it. The story might've been referring to right after American Graffiti/Star Wars.Wasn't it George Lucas who discovered him? First with the bitpart in American Graffiti and then with the lead in Star Wars?
Ok, that indicates to me that after American Graffiti Ford couldn't find work because I know he got Copolla's attention at Copolla's home while Ford was building the deck.Checked. 1973- American Graffiti by Lucas, 1974 The Conversation with Gene Hackman and John Cazale in leads by Coppola, 1977 Star wars by Lucas (first lead), 1978 Force 10 from Navarone with Edvard fox and Robert Shaw and Ford in leads by Guy Hamilton and 1979 Apocalypse Now by Coppola, 1980 The Empire strikes Back and the rest is history as they say.
There is a three year hiatus between the conversation and Star Wars. I think he worked as a carpenter on sets and doing other things too. Very possibly Coppola could have said to lucas, they were friends i believe, that this guy is woreth a shot or something like it.Ok, that indicates to me that after American Graffiti Ford couldn't find work because I know he got Copolla's attention at Copolla's home while Ford was building the deck.

That's so cool.If I recall, they had people reading parts, specifically people they were looking at casting together. Ford was doing carpentry work, and was asked to stand in for someone. Not with the intention of casting him...just needed a part filled. He got the part.
While working as a carpenter, he became a stagehand for the popular rock band The Doors. He also built a sun deck for actress Sally Kellerman and a recording studio for Brazilian band leader Sérgio Mendes.
He was then hired to build cabinets at the home of director George Lucas, who subsequently cast him in a pivotal supporting role for his film American Graffiti (1973).[8] Ford's relationship with Lucas would profoundly affect his career later on. After director Francis Ford Coppola's film The Godfather was a success, he hired Ford to expand his office and gave him small roles in his next two films, The Conversation (1974) and Apocalypse Now (1979); in the latter film he played an army officer named "G. Lucas". During this early period, Ford often came to auditions directly from work still wearing his carpenter's clothes and gear, to subtly remind casting directors that he had other options in life.
Oh, okay it was Lucas' deck.Well, I had to google. This is from wiki.
