Is there any real information about this book? I really want it, but it's not up for pre-order anywhere that I know of.

Supposed to be fall 2016. I'd recommend signing up for the newsletter from this site. That's probably your best bet for getting info ASAP. Also, checking in on this forum as Ms Mod posts that kind of stuff right away.

Hey, thanks, great to see you're still stalking this joint! I've been so busy lately, but thought I'd take the day off for my birthday. Yes, this one is not published by one of his regulars, but by the university themselves. As a current student, I can't wait to read about all the places I'm familiar with. I do recall that Pet Sematary has Louis Creed working at my doctor's office on campus, the Cutler Health Center (Pascow was a student who got hit by a car there). Also, Hearts in Atlantis had the building I work in, the East Annex, except in the book it was an ROTC building.

This will be the very first book of his that I will have signed, for the record.

He won't be doing a book signing so there's no guarantee you'll get a signed book. The 400 pre-signed books are being distributed randomly in with all the other books being sold.

I'm looking forward to the other essays, as well. I'm not aware of too much, although there must be plenty, of writings from that time. Did read Mark Vonnegut's The Eden Express. I think he's a doctor now? But he went to Canada and the story is about that though it's been years since I read it. Probably few who read Knowles' A Separate Peace anymore, but just as Gene and Finny and their play reflected the action of the time--a world war--the people in Hearts in Atlantis reflect a different but also a like-kind exchange during the Vietnam War...and as kids (too young but seemed like it would happen) we too, in our play, reflected those older than us, both games of aggression and games of protest.

Oh, darn. I thought that it was going to be a signing tour. My luck is "always in, always bad," so I do not anticipate being one of the lucky few. Still, it will be fun to be there.
