@Lisey Landon I feel your pain sister! Mood swings all over the place. Why can't it be too happy or overly calm? Why do these moods have to swing in the angry/sad realm?

I am angry today because I've had someone call out in a position that I have to fill myself today. And they texted me in the middle of the night to tell me. So my workday is blown.
Yes, why not an overwhelming desire to bake a cake instead of strangling someone! The only thing I can tell you for certain, there's no growth in overly calm and too happy. Think about when you learn something brand new, you feel like you're walking on wet ice, off balance all the time. That's the only time you're learning something is when you're out of your comfort zone. Once you're comfortable you can add to an understanding, but you're only refining it, not learning something new. The only thing that you can be certain of is that you will go through trial. This too shall pass applies equally to pleasant times as well as stressful times. You have to experience the stress to build strength. When you lift weight, have you noticed you don't get stronger by lifting less weight? You only gain strength by lifting more weight. That's how God builds us up, through trial and struggle. Rest in Him, God will give you strength to endure and you will acquire that strength through enduring.

@Dr. Fudd, we do appreciate your encouraging words and desire to help others, truly. But I'm going to ask you respectfully if you would please keep your posts surrounding your religious beliefs in the Religion forum. If folks would like your spiritual help specifically, I'm sure they will be happy to contact you there, or directly via your profile area. Thank you. :)

When you're tired and in pain, everything is impossible! I have used periods of time like this to build my patience, but it's not easy and it's not fun. It's productive but the trial is never easy. You will notice that if you can relax and not complain, seriously scold yourself for complaining, that you will develop a much higher strength against aggravation and stress. I hope you can go through this period of time and experience the grace of God in it. God bless you.
That's really not easy... Anyway, I am a girl, like everyone I can be capricious at times, mood swings and everything::P Just kidding...

Anyway, it's better today, we moved and things seem to be okay... Here we have a little office where nobody interferes with our work... Maybe, that's even better. The tooth pain is still there, but rather bearable now... Not that angry today :okay:

I am sooooo frustrated. I spent a month or so working on a Christmas stocking for the grandbaby due this spring. Then one day, my hands were all chapped, and I didn't notice one place had cracked open and I got blood on the material. Tried for about a week to get it out, but when held under natural light, there was still a very slight yellow tinge.

Went out and bought new material. It was to small.

Went out again and bought new material, but can only buy by the half meter...so much more expensive then it should have been.

Worked on it for a week or so. Then yesterday I noticed, one section is one space over from where it should be.

image.jpg

See that red/orange blob on the right? That entire section has to be pulled out stitch by stitch, then re-done, one space over. I am never going to get this finished.

NOTE TO MOD: if there is a general venting/bad day thread, please move this into it. I thought there was one, and I looked, but I couldn't find it.

Have you tried hydrogen peroxide to remove the stain?
I don't have that in my home. I tried spit (seriously, your own spit is supposed to be the best thing to clean blood off material). And I tried water and I tried bleach. Now, I've cut off the stitched and stained part and will use the remaining material for small stuff.

There is an I'm Angry Today because thread...does that sound like a good fit to you for this?

That sounds appropriate.

Everybody has the low points. I relate everything to weight lifting. That low point is like that last repetition that you can barely complete. That's where you build the most muscle, on the hardest attempts. A nights sleep always helps too. It's not just girls that fall into mood swings I can assure you of that!

This was specifically for HollyGolightly because I'm familiar with her beliefs. I wouldn't be saying, believe in Gan to someone that didn't believe in Gan. I fondly remember the 50's and 60's, you can be with us, just please, sit in the back of the bus. Or further back, we don't mind you being around, just please wear this star on your clothing and go to these specific places we've built for you. It started small back then too. I'm not surprised, I'm not insulted and I'm not threatened that it's happening now. I know it HAS to happen again. I've been warned of it and accept that it has to transpire. I've chosen the side I'm going to be on. I wonder how many others have chosen also.

Now I'm really getting fed up.

I ordered an ocarina for my son. With the coupon, he paid over $100.

First, no confirmation e-mail arrived. They did not respond to my e-mails, nor to a private message on Facebook. Finally I called and was told there were still problems with their web-site (it had been down for quite a while) but my order was received and she would ship that day.

After a few days, I still had not received the e-mail with the tracking number. Again, no response to my e-mail so I called. She immediately sent me the e-mail....and according to the USPs tracking! the item had already been delivered....to New Zealand two years ago.

So, the woman contacted USPS who updated their info and I've been following the tracking. I stayed home today because it said it was out for delivery. Lots of snow, so it didn't get here until 4.

And it's the wrong one. This one is only worth $20.

That's some serious profit margin. How long ago did you order it?

Wait, are you saying that Flake asked you to go to the "back of the bus" or "wear a star on your coat" so to speak? It starts out small like on a message board and is happening now? She is not asking you not to talk about your faith, she asked you to keep it in the religion area.

Just because we ask people to talk about only Bag of Bones in the Bag of Bones area does not mean we're going to single out Bag of Bones people for mistreatment or ridicule. Everything has a place here and it just keeps things tidy and organized.

Well then I'm angry today because I can't talk about God and Jesus Christ wherever and whenever I want. That 100's of 1,000s died that I might have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. That those lives have now been lost in vain because I now don't have that freedom. So now I'm doing what the thread is about. That's tidy, right?

Tidy. And you do have that freedom. Just please do it in the religion thread. The Stephen King message board isn't your personal pulpit.

You're still doing it. :biggrin2:

And you know full well I didn't mean any of those things you're insinuating. Dana Jean has covered the wherefore and why's so I won't repeat. :)

Jesus Christ/ God/ Religion have a Gamillion websites devoted to them. Stephen King has just one. I choose to be here for Stephen King.... which is why i'm here.

For the life of me i don't understand why it's necessary for the official Stephen King website to have either a Religion or a Politics section. Both subjects only seem to inflame people and cause friction that quite frankly, the site is far better off without. I understand that they were given their own section so as to not have either of these subjects overflow in to areas where they might not be welcome.... unfortunately, with Religion.... it does any way. This has made me roll my eyes more than once but i've kept my mouth shut about it for a great deal of the time.

When i was involved in a few of the Religion based threads, i did so because the over-all climate of the conversation had such a negative effect on me that i found it best to comment then to simply say nothing.

Now i'm going to say this: It's gotten out of control. Your 'insinuating' comments such as: "I've been warned of it and accept that it has to transpire. I've chosen the side I'm going to be on. I wonder how many others have chosen also." along with your assumption that your religious view point is the correct one is obnoxious. If you cannot respect other peoples beliefs and religious preferences (or their right to NOT have a belief system or religious preference) then BE QUIET. You were graciously asked to keep it in the Religion Section. So why not graciously accept that request and Stop being a bully. I'm here to meet like-minded people who are here to celebrate STEPHEN KING and his work. NOT to discuss God. Isn't that why YOU'RE supposed to be here too or am i mistaken and Steve-O is actually a Deity?

I believe there is room on this site for topics discussing religion and politics as Stephen has shown an interest in both. I respect both views--that people should be free to discuss their religion if they choose to do so and also that people whom wish not to have it come up frequently in conversation, should have the right to not be reading it at every turn.
This is why we have the designated areas, so that everybody gets to enjoy Stephen's MB equally. We would appreciate members respecting this issue and perhaps choosing wisely when they decide where to post their messages. :)
