I'm convinced they didn't ask the right questions to properly identify us. :)

Yeah, considering they said you might have a Canadian accent. (Is that really how you say about?)

Then again, the only American accents I would consider an 'accent' would be midland, southern (of course there are more than one of these), and the NY and Boston accents. And the Canadian accent, eh?

What? :announce:

I woulda figured I'd have a northeast accent. I've only ventured outside of NE maybe 4 or 5 times during my lifetime. And never for more than week...

I haven't ever lived outside of North Carolina.....except for that very short time in Miami, which I will never speak of.....I know I have an accent.

I agree, Ms Mod.....they didn't ask the right questions

I catch myself putting a little more Canadian in it every so often. My maternal great grandmother came to the US from Canada plus we have a lot of Canadian visitors to the area so think I might have picked it up that way.

You ALL have an accent to me! :biggrin2:
(I suspect you wouldn't understand most of what I say... apparently we speak quite quickly here.)
There's a NZ homebrewer I sometimes watch on Youtube. I understand him alright. His channel name is Time4another1 or something like that. It's because of him I found those brewing T-shirts I recently got.

With all the talk about how words are pronounced, some might enjoy this little test that determines what American accent you have. At first, looking at the questions, I thought "yeah right." But to my surprise it was very accurate in my instance.
What American accent do you have?
Apparently I am "West" 96% :blues:oy vey - where is my cowboy hat?

Love them all!!!
Okay - quick story - on a ferry going to the mainland so we could visit Glasgow. In the ladies washroom I complimented a lady there by saying "I love your accent!" her reply:
I do not have an accent. I speak the Queen's English.:m_smooth:
(but the majority of English people are not snobs like she was)
