While on an author thread today on another site, there was discussion of how to write a best-seller. I remembered the story of how Stephen King wrote "Carrie", and that his wife recovered the manuscript from the trash and gave it back to him. That it was best to never give up and always keep trying. And posted that on the forum. Reminded of the Carrie story, I looked it up on wiki. On that page, Stephen King is reputed to have stated to his biographer that he wondered what it would have been like to have been raised under a mother like Carrie's.
