So, thoughts?

Wow. This surpasses all my expectations. I still regret the decision for the kids' story to be set mid-'80s but I think it's going to be incredible. This may be what the fans have been waiting on...an IT movie that's actually scary. I'm ready to see this on the big screen in the dark, lol.
It reminds me of Stranger Things, too.

I'm sitting in a public restroom watching the trailer again!
Ha! I can imagine someone walking by your stall hearing "we all float down here!"
I've watched it four times. I think that is
Henry in two different frames. Both times he's near a Trans-am. Near the end he's walking toward a red balloon. What do you think?

Doc, you're right -- this does seem like Stranger Things. At least in tone. Not sure if it was actually influenced by that show since I assume this was in production around the same time, but nevertheless, great coincidence (maybe it's the film stock, or digital filter, whatever; I know nothing about technical filmmaking).

I had never liked splitting the story into two movies, one for children, one for adults; I had thought the children parts could be told in flashbacks. However, this seems like it will work for me. I want to see this now!

I think a bigger question is...why release this September 8? Would an August release have been a bit better? Releasing it in September, although that would seem to jive in tone/atmosphere, could mean money might be left on the table. Or, the studio doesn't have confidence in the movie. I hope that isn't the case. But the September release is basically saying this is a smaller horror film a la Jeepers Creepers. I'd like to think this is more of a tentpole piece. Who knows, though. I suppose, too, maybe the studio wanted some distance between this film and Tower. Studios always overthink things. Bev Vincent ,would you have any opinion on the release date? Did it strike you odd in any way? Also, was this a deal where King sold the rights for a dollar? Thanks.

Well, I haven't been to the cinema since E.T was originally released.

This film is the one to get me back into the hotdog smelling, popcorn infested darkness of the theatre.

Last movie I saw in the theatre, was Karate Kid with Will Smith's son. Class trip when my son was in middle school.

But IT is getting more and more exciting. I asked my son if he'll go on a date with me to see it. :D
