Got some HC of hill. HORNS And Nos4a2 (which came shrink wrapped ). Started with horns and only about a half done. I like it. More abrasive than king but there lies the rub. I really don't want to start to compare him to king. That's not really fair. So truth be told I give the book so far a thumbs up. Definitely has attitude. How would u rank horns to nos and heart shaped box. I think that's all he has out.if not please inform me. I'm I reading his best work? How do other works rank next to horns. Thanks

I like HSB the best, then NOS4A2, then Horns. His kindle singles are wonderful, too! And don't forget the book of short stories, 20th Century Ghosts :)

That's my ranking also! I have a copy of 20th Century Ghosts but haven't read it yet.
Best New Horror is one of the creepiest stories that I've ever read! I think Mr. Hill has said that Pop Art is his favorite. It's altogether a really strong collection :) I think I have all the kindle singles, but those would be nice to have in actual book form, too.

Joe is very much his own writer. I love his use of metaphors and similes. Always very impressed with his work although I haven't read NOS yet.

agreed -- Hes a bit darker than SK, too (I never knew that was possible) and he has a very modern/vernacular way of storytelling -- definitely a Gen X/Millenial use of syntax where SK is somewhere between Baby Boomer and Gen X

I have not read any of his e stories or comic books; and I have not yet read Heart shaped Box and have only read one story so far from 20th century ghost. I really enjoyed NOS4A2 , and am currently 129 pages into Horns. I like Horns better than NOS4A2.

Cripes! Can't believe I forgot to mention Locke & Key! VERY good series of graphic novels (if you're into that sort of thing--I definitely am :) ).
