Mick could have said no to this tour, but he didn't. He's been battling this type of inflammatory arthritis (it's in his spine) since he was about 17, I think. I'm sure it is very painful for him at times. These days, he doesn't move much around the stage, but his ability to play is still as good as it ever was.
While I would love to see all the groups in the stadium tour, I have serious doubts that I'll be going. Tickets are really expensive......it IS four headlining bands, after all, and there is a limit of "stupid money" that BF and I will pay. We'd not only have the ticket expense, but also hotel, food, drinks, and uber service......because let's face it, after a 6 or 7 hour show, neither of us would be in condition to drive.
Yes, I did believe they'd stick to the contract. I expected them to stick to it. It's really hard to say no when someone offers you a ridiculous amount of money, though. I knew that Vince and Tommy would be all in.....but I really thought Sixx would say no, and I'll admit, I was disappointed that he went for it.
From what I gather about the illness Mick has, ankylosing spondylitis, as you said, it gets much worse when you get older. So I can only imagine what it is like for him at his age. I don't get why they continue, surely they have made enough bank to never have to do anything again. Sixx was saying "well, you know, because of The Dirt we have all these new fans and they demand that the Crue return". I'm pretty sure that this Stadium Tour will be the same fans that went to their first "Farewell Tour". :)

My family has a hereditary bone disease that affects the spine.....the vertebrae slowly soften and disintegrate. It becomes severely painful and debilitating. I'm watching my uncle suffer with it. He's only two years older than me. Learning that you're disabled at the age of 55 is not an easy thing to take, so I can certainly understand Mick wanting to do what he loves for as long as possible, even if it hurts.
I do think that the movie did influence their decision a little bit. They love playing live, they love the music, they love the fans.
There were a lot of fans who were unable to attend the final tour......and you have to remember, there are 3 other fantastic headlining bands touring with them, so no, it won't be just the same fans in attendance.

So, not long after going back to work, I came home one evening and Munchkin excitedly told me there was a surprise for me in the fridge.
Thinking it was a cheesecake, or something, I rushed over to open the door and saw this......

It took me a minute to register what it said, all the time, Munchkin was watching me and smiling. When I finally got it, I said " Oh! You are!!! Okay, let's eat some cake!" I have to give her an A for creativity. We had a good talk, and I told her that I love her and support her 100%, unconditionally. Forever. I'm glad that she trusts me and feels safe telling me things.
