As a joke, fine, but as a serious discussion, it goes into the political arena and as you know, we no longer allow political discussions/debates in order to keep the peace on the Board and preserve the moderators' sanity. There are plenty of other sites that would be happy to have that discussion if you want to pursue it.

I just mentioned the Politics section today and am now realizing it's not there anymore.

It was not my most visited section but I had some time to burn today and that section was always good for entertainment value (as long as I was not the one who had to moderate it, that is).

I had a feeling you might not have known it was shuttered. Moderator burnout led to its demise. I think I can safely say it is not missed by the majority of the members. :)

Yeah, I know how active you all had to be in that section alone.

And you're right. It's been a week since I came back (thanks to a slow workload period at my job) and it's only now I even thought about it (first by mentioning the almost-fights there and then by reading Roseanne's name in the recent topics).

It must be like with kids. I think they can be lovely, but only for five minutes, then I give them back to their parents when I remember they can be loud and have high energy for a looooong time. o_O (It doesn't help when kids see I like super heroes and all that stuff so they go all out, and I was never one to be too physical when playing, even when I was a kid.)

Hallo,i'm alive and well!! Been busy at work so far. We got a new practicant today and its mainly fallen to me to guide him in how you do things. He's a bit unsure around which numbers to look at in which order so far but it will pass with time i think. But so far i'll have to sit with him and make sure. I've written an onepage checklist for him so he can see in a glance what to do and in what order.

Otherwise i'm fine. I've booked my holiday!! I'm off to Corfu at the end of mai. A green greek island situated between Italy and greece if thats makes it any clearer. Two weeks of sun, bath and exploring a new place. And good food! And nice drinks! And no alarm clocks!!!! Sounds like heaven. 7 weeks to go. I can hardly wait!.

Good to see you. Am sure you will instruct the new person well. You are a good teacher. Your vacation plans sound wonderful. Safe travels and have fun!!

Hi all! How was everyone's weekend?

Good here. Caught up on some chores, did quite a bit of reading. Brandon and Marti made me dinner and cake for my birthday since Scott worked. Got some cute handmade cards from the grandbabies. Spencer is smiling already! So cute.

I think we need to look into getting Ty a guitar. They are doing a simple unit in his music class at school and apparently he is a natural! So much so that his teacher asked him if he had had lessons and did not believe him when he said no. He was not interested in taking band so this is a cool little surprise. He is kind of my awkward kid, shy and quiet. When we were at the junior high last week with Ali for her track meeting, he was completely intimidated and it worried me some, as he will be there next year. So maybe the guitar thing can help him with his shyness a little bit and help him to make new friends.

Going to be 63 here today. We are going to go enjoy it some. It is not very sunshiney but nice!

Hope you all have a great day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:
...a guitar slinger=automatic cool.....

A few drops of water is bad. This promotes mold and mildew and rot. Just for your own safety and health, ceilings shouldn't have condensation! I'm worried the ceiling is going to come down on you!

Our ceiling looks quite similar to this one (no fan in the middle) so it will not come down on us - but yes - you are right - mold and mildew would be a concern in the attic for sure (We have knotty pine in our room and also in the kitchen and front entryway).

Nessy, Congrats on quitting smoking!! I have tried many times but just don't have the will power, but the colder it is outside the less I smoke because inside is always smoke free.
It's cat in a bag actually - I quit smoking when I was around 25 which was a long, long time ago - but thanks anyway!
Glad to hear you do it outside - have you considered switching to "vaping"?
