I guess I have to play good news, bad news now...

Good news - my pension payments are finally being deposited into our joint chequing (checking) account. :greedy_dollars:

Bad news - the Nunamiut Lodge where Andy is the chef has been sold - he still has not heard if they will be keeping him on or not - so I will not know until closer to May or June if I can go to the King Kon - sorry! :indecisiveness:
Positive vibes that all works well. Hope to see you there.

Andy just told me a couple of days ago and I was quite surprised - his boss is 74 so they knew that eventually this would happen.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the new owners choose to keep Andy on - his cooking is much appreciated up there, so I doubt they want to lose him (unless they have a very good chef waiting in the wings) - wish us luck please that he gets to keep his job :burn_joss_stick::m_award:
Sending good wishes Neesy.

That would be wonderful - it would be lovely to hear your Irish (American?) accent - how many years have you been over there?

Thanks!
I've been here for 27 years. I basically still have an American accent. Pure west coast. BUT, there are some words and phrases I've picked up over the years, purely Irish, that come out real Dublin. Our son is a bit transatlantic, so our combined accents are confusing to people. Great fun really.

I was watching an old British show called As Time Goes By on PBS and Judy Dench said to her spouse “Clear off!”; judging from the context in which it was used, I translated it to “Get lost!”

But it was too late in the evening to call Andy so not sure if that was right :D

Best of luck, Neesy... I hope Andy gets to keep his job!

Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thanks - I had a dream about him this morning - he had a man bun :my_bad: and was collecting Christmas decorations (like a bunch of decorated trees etc.)

Not sure what that meant!

Erm. Tall Guy and I are looking for reasonable rates to fly. If we can swing it, all is cool. Otherwise, it's looking shaky.
Good vibes, please.
Have you checked flying into Portland or Boston, then renting a car? Would you be flying from Baton Rouge or is New Orleans an option? Playing with airports can get you a cheaper flight. Also, Google Flights can help you compare lots of variables including luggage fees, etc. Sending good vibes your way!! ((LL & Tall Guy and cheap flights!!)):love_heart:

We always fly out of New Orleans. It's much cheaper. Portland looked more expensive, but I'll look into Boston, too.
